Recording & Pla yback of your PVR-X10 Hard disk Functions The hard disk record or playback func tions are controlled from the PVR menu. Press the PVR key to enter the PVR menu.
Connecting the receiver The follo wing connections must be made befo re y ou can use the receiver unit to watch digital TV. On the rear of the receiver y ou will find the following ma rkings.
Optional devices SPDIF For the best possible sound repr oduction – Digital audio output. Con- nect your am plifier with an S/PDIF IN socket using this connection. Use a shielded S/PDIF cable for be st results (not included). T V For best possible video repr oducti on, S Video quality is available via SCART adaptor (not included).
Operating the receiver Operating the receiv er is done using the supplied remot e control. Na vigation within the on screen menu (OSD) is carried out using the buttons shown belo w: P+ / P– Moves the selection in the menus up- and down.

General operation of the receiver Y ou can choose the following remot e control functions in normal T V viewing mode: P+ / P– Change to previous or ne xt channel in the channel list TV / RADIO Chang.
Operation front panel butt ons In case the remote contr ol is not at hand an emergency use of the receiver is possible via the front panel buttons. The butt ons hav e the following functions: ▲ / ▼ Change to the next or pre vious channel in the channel list.
Channel selection The receiver keeps an int ernal channel list in its memor y. This list contains all channels that were f ound during channel scan. There are several methods of choosing a T V channel.
Channel list The channel list can be shown in a number of wa ys: LIST Shows the whole channel list. Y ou can navigate using the P+/P– but- tons to an y channel. Press OK to activate the channel. Y ou can change between the TV and radio list using the T V-/RADIO buttons.
EPG - Electronic program guide DVB conforming transmitte rs of fer info rmatio n on their programs such as the title and description of the current and follo wing progra m. A dditionally , transmitters also have the option to offer a program guide of up to 64 da ys in advance.
OSD T elete xt If you ha ve selected a channel that contains tele text data the programme menu contains an entr y “T eletext” that can be used to open the OSD T elete xt. 0 – 9 Enter page number (between 1 00 and 899) P+ / P– Single step through the pages Pages that are not in the page cache will be skipped.
Timer The built in timer can administrate up to 12 recordings. Thereby you can choose a fixed recording date or da y of the week f or each timer command. The recordings are pr ogrammed in the menu point “Timer” in the main menu. All dates t o the 12 entries can be seen in the overview .
Selection of audio-/ radio channel T o select an alternative audio channel t o a multilingual program, press the MENU button whilst the program is running. As long as the br oadcaster suppor ts the transmission of this data a heading “A udio Chan- nel” will appear in the window .
Games T wo games hav e been included with the recei v er . These games can be found under “Extras” in the main menu. The object of the game “Blocks” is to fill up the screen with the falling blocks so as to lea ve as little empty , unused space as possible.
Configuration of the receiver Basic settings The basic settings are modified in the sub me nu “Edit Settings” of the main menu, which can be reached by pressing the MENU butt on twice. T o change an indivi dual option of the setti ngs menus use the – / + buttons.
Editing the channel list The channel list of the receiver can be sor ted according t o your wishes. Call up the channel list editor thr ough the menu heading “Channel List” / “Sor t Channels” in the main menu. After making any desired changes leav e the channel list with the EXIT button.
F unctions, which wor k with a destination entry, will request selection of the destination position. This is done by moving to the entry in the list and conf irming with OK. As long as a function has not been complet ed pressing the EXIT button re verses the previ- ous steps.
Automat ic s ea rch The automatic search function of the receiv er searches f or new T V and radio channels. Coded/Scrambled TV channels are sorted out and not displa yed. TV channels, which al- ready exist in the list, will be remov ed automatically .
The follo wing options are available for the ne wly found channels (right hand list): Activat e View channel Copy above Cop y a selected new channel int o the channel list. This entr y and the follo wing ones will be pushed down t o make room f or the new one.
Signal strength indicat or/ Specifications The signal strength indicator can be viewed fr om the sub menu “Extras” of the main menu. An estimation of the signal st rength will be made accor ding to the status of the indicator bar . The C/N value gives the same value, measured in dB.
Use of the RX/TX port The serial por t of the receiver offers you the possibility of connecting to a PC for software/ firmware updat es. Such updates ma y be downloaded fr om our websit e at www .wintal.com.au. Updates and firmw are revisions will be announce d on the Wintal w eb site as they become ava i l ab l e .
