IMPORT ANT READ CAREFULL Y The DIXON ZTR mower is easy and fun ‘to op erate. However, the ZTR mower is not a toy o r a recreational vehicle. Any powe r mower mus t be operated properly to be safe. Before you use your ZTR mower, read the operator’s manual carefully.
SAFETY The most c ommo n cause s of lawn mo wer injuri es are: 1. Contact wi th mower bla de(s) with hands o r feet. 2. Tippin g over. 3. Runni ng over c hildren. 70 PREVENT THESE AND OTHER INJURIES, READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN MANUAL AND ON MOWER BEFORE STARTING MOWER.
SLOPE OPERATION Slopes are a ma jor factor in loss of control and tip-over accidents. ALL SLOPES REQUIRE EXTRA CAUTION. • Mow across the slope with your Dixon ZTR, neve r up or down. • Watch for holes and hidden hazards. Tall grass will hide obstacles.
SERVICE • Handle gasoline with care. It is highly fla mmable. • Use approved gas container. Keep out of the reach of children. • Never remove gas cap when engine is running . • Fill gas tank outdoors. • Shut off engine. Allow eng ine to cool before refueling.

Release parking brake. Push both drive levers gradually forward (away from ope rator) , TO MOVE BACKWARD Pull both drive levers gradually back (toward operator). TO TURN Turning is controlled by moving one drive lever slightly forward or rearward of the other.

DRIVE CHAIN ADJUSTMENT Mower is equipped with manua lly adjusted drive cha in tension idlers, one for each chain at rear of mowe r. To adjust drive c hains, ti ghten nut on c hain te n-sioner L-rod unt il spring P/N 51 33 is nearly compressed a s shown.
