NOTE A 15amp, 120 volt circuit is required. A dedicated circuit is preferred but not essential in all cases. A dedicated circuit will be required if, after installation, t he circuit breaker trips or fuse blows on a regular basis when the heater is operat ing.
EXISTING FIREPLACE INSTALLATION 1. Seal all drafts and vents with non-fibrous insulation materials to prevent chimney debris from falling into the fireplace insert. Do not install into an existing fireplace that is prone to leaks or dampness. 2. Cap the top of the chimney flue to prevent rain from entering.
DIMPLEX MANTEL SURROUND KIT OR CUSTOM MADE MANTEL SURROUND 1. Select a suitable location that is not susc eptible to moisture and is away from drapes, furniture and high traffic. 2. Place the fireplace in the desired locati on to see how it will look in the room.
OPERATION Remote Control Operation Warning: It takes some time for the receiver to respond to the trans mitter. Do not press the buttons more than once within two sec onds for correct operation.
Batteries 1. The remote control uses 3 AAA size batteri es (included). Replace these batteries at least every 6 months or when the low ba ttery appears on the remote display screen. 2. When batteries are removed wait at leas t 1 minute before replac ing with new batteries.
OPERATION Electric Fireplace Manual Controls A. Manual on/off switch 1. The fireplace has a manual power ON/OFF switch located on the cont rol panel of the fireplace. 2. To operate press the switch once, to turn the unit on. A red light will illuminate to indicate the power is on.
MAINTENANCE WARNING Disconnect power before attempting any maintenanc e or cleaning to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or damage to persons. LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT Allow at least 5 minutes for light bulbs to cool off before touching bulbs to avoid accidental burning of skin.
LOWER LIGHT BULB REQUIREMENTS Quantity of 4 clear chandelier or candelabra bulbs with an E-12 (small) socket base, 60 watt rating. To replace the top light bulbs: 1. Locate the two upper bulbs insi de the firebox at the top. 2. Examine the bulbs to determine which bulbs require replacement.
FIVE YEAR LIMITED W ARRANTY Products to which this limited warranty applies This limited warranty applies to the followi ng applicable models of your newly purchased Dimplex electric fireplace SF3003, EF3003, DF3003 and to newly purchased Di mplex fireplace surrounds (mantels) and trims.
What this limited warranty does not cover This limited warranty does not apply to products that have been repaired (except by Dimplex or its authorized service representatives) or otherwise altered.
For surrounds (mantels) a nd trims for the period ending at midnight on the firs t anniversary of the date of first purchase, Dimplex will in its sole di scretion either repair or replace such defective su rrounds (mante ls) and trims or part thereof without cha rge.
