SITE SEL ECTION A ND PRE P A R A TION This section p rovides easy step b y step instructions for selec ting a location and preparing the site to insta ll the fireplace into: • Existing Fi replace .
NOTE The firep lace insert must be installed o n a hard surface. NOTE A 13 AMP, 23 0 VOLT (240V in Austra lia) circuit is required. A dedicated circuit is preferred but not essential in a ll cases. A dedicat ed circuit will be required if, afte r installation, the circuit breaker trips or fuse blows on a regular basis when the heater is operating.

OPER A TION This section will explain the function of ea ch convenient control. 1. To access the controls, open the upper grill by pulling, near the top right hand side, forward and down. (FIGURE 9) 2. To locate cont rols refer to FIGURE 10. 3. To conceal the controls during the opera tion, return the grill to its original upright position.

MAIN POWE R INDICA TOR LIG HT The main po wer indicator light will illumina te, confirming the unit is turned ON. C. FLAME ACTION CON TROL Turn the flame action control knob to adju st the flame speed to t he desired level.
REMOTE CONTROL US AGE (FIGURE 11) The firep lace is supplied with a rad io frequency remote control. This remote control has a range of app roximately 25 feet. (17.5m), it does not have to be pointed at the fireplace and can pass throu gh most obstacles (inc luding walls).

LIGHT BULB REPL ACEMENT WARNING Allow at least 5 minutes for light bu lbs to cool off befo re touching bulbs to avoid a ccidental burning of skin.
9 To replace the bottom light bulbs: 1. lift up the f ront edge of the log until it cle ars the front tabs. Pull out until the rear tab clears the b ack ledge, then lift out. 2. Examine the bulbs to determine which b ulbs require replacem ent. 3. Hold the so cket while unscrewing the b ulb 4.
To reassem ble lamp area 1. Replace the glass and hold it in place a t the top. 2. Fasten retaining clip to hold glass in place. 10 HELPFUL HINTS It is a good idea to replace all light bulb s at one time if they are clo se to the end of the ir rated life.
11 W A RR A NTY Dimplex Electric Fireplaces are tested and inspected prior to shipment and are guaranteed from defect to the purchaser of each new product. Any part which proves to be defectiv e in mater ial or workmanship under normal u se within one year will be repaired or replaced without charge.
