4 OPERATI ON REMOTE CONTROL The remote cont rol has a range of appro ximately 50ft. (15.25m), it does not have to be poin ted at the firepla ce and can pass throu gh most obstacles (inc luding walls). Remote Control Ini tialization This proce dure is may be required if there is a loss of po wer to the remo te control in the fireplace.
5 MANUAL CONTROLS The firep lace can also be controlled in a sim ilar manner to the remote co ntrol with switches located on the f ireplace (FIGURE 3). A. On Switch Operates fire place in the same manner a s the remote control tran smitter. Pressing this button has the same effect as the ON button on t he remote control.
6 THE TEMPERATURE CUTOUT SWITCH The heater o n this fireplace is prote cted with a safety device to p revent overheating. Should the hea ter overheat, an autom atic cut out will turn th e heater off. The heate r will re- activate on ce the heater has coo led.
7 To access the light bulb area 1. Open steel cu rtain (remove glass doors if applicab le). 2. Remove t wo screws on log b racket and set aside. (FIG URE 4) 3. Pull fron t edge of plastic embe r bed or plastic grate up and fo rward until rear tab release s from the ledge located at the bottom of the mirror.
8 PURIFIRE™ FILTE R The Purifire ™ filter supplied in your fireplace is reusab le and washable. The filte r should be cleaned o r replaced on average once a year. To clean the filte r gently tap filter on a hard su rface to dislodge any loos e dirt or debris, and then clean with water.
9 Mirror Clea ning The mirror is clea ned in the factory during th e assembly opera tion. During shipment, installation, han dling, etc., the mirror surface may collect dust pa rticles; these can be removed by buff ing lightly with a clean d ry cloth.
10 WARRANTY Dimplex Electric Fireplaces are teste d and inspected prior to shipm en t and are guaranteed from defect to the purchaser of each new pro d uct. Any part which proves to be defective in material or workmanship under norm al use within one year will be repaired or replaced without charge.
