1 INTRODUCTION The Wireless 802.11b+g Access Poin t ( AP ) is an IEEE802.11g com pliant access point. It not only provides a high tran sfer rate up to 54Mbps, which is almost five times faster than the already existing 11Mbps 802.11b produc ts, bu t is also backward compatible with the Wireless B equipments.

6 SETUP Note: Before your st arting har dware connecti on, you are advise d to find an appropr iate location to place the Access Poin t. Usually, the best place fo r the Access Point is at the center of your wireless network, with lin e of straight to all your wireless statio ns.
7 CONFIGURATION Login 1. Start your computer. Conne ct an Ethern et cable bet ween your computer and the Wireless Access Point. 2. Make sure your wired station is set to the sam e subnet as the Wireless Access Poi nt, i.e. 192.168.1.1 0 3. Start your WEB browser .
8 Basic Setup The Setup page displays baci local and WLAN settings for the AP and enab le you to change the settings. FW Version The current version of the firmware installed in this device. SW Version The current version of the software installed in th is device.
9 Advanced Setup It is not recom mended that sett ings in this page to b e changed unle ss advanced users wa nt to change to meet their wireless en vironm ent for optim al performance. Beacon Period Beacon Period i s the amount of time betwee n beacon transmissions.

11 IP Setting The IP Settings page displays the IP address for the AP. IP Address This field can be modifi ed only when D HCP Cli ent is disabl ed. If your system manager assigned you static IP settings, then you will have to enter the information provided.
12 Privacy The Privacy page displays WLAN security settings. You can select WEP, 802.1x, or WPA to be the privacy mode for the AP. WEP Privacy Turn privacy on and off when security is set to WEP. When security is set to 802.1x or WPA, privacy is turned on automatically.
13 Key Value Please set the Key Val ue according to the WEP Ci pher you select. If 40bits is selected, 10 Hex characters are needed. If 128bits is selected, 26 Hex characters are neede d. If 256bits is selected, 58 Hex characters are neede d. WEP Cipher You can cho ose one from " 40 bits " 128bits " 256bits .
14 Group Keys. The de fault is 3600 seconds . WEP Keys Not Required. RADIUS Server IP Address Enter the RADI US Server’s IP Addr ess provided by your ISP. Port Enter the RADIUS Se rver’s port number pro vided by your ISP. The default is 1812 . Secret Enter the secret phrase that th e AP shares with the RADIUS Server.

19 Statistics The Statistics table shows the packets sent/received over wi reless and ethernet LAN respectively. Click Refresh to update the data..
