8- ENG D25690 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS BASIC ELEMENTS OF A PRESSURE WASHER High Pressur e Pump : Increases the pr essure of the water supply . Engine: Drives the high pressur e pump. High Pressur e Hose: Carries the pressurized water fr om the pump to the gun and wand.
9- ENG D25690 BASIC ELEMENTS OF ENGINE Refer to the engine manual for location and operation of engine controls. Choke Control: Opens and closes carbur etor choke valve Throttle Contr ol Lever (if equipped): Controls engine speed. Starter Grip: Pulling starter grip operates recoil starter to crank engine.
10- ENG D25690 TO USE WAND Y our pressur e washer is equipped with up to five spray nozzles . Each nozzle is color coded and delivers a specific spray pattern for a particular cleaning purpose. The size of the nozzle determines the size of the fan spray and the pressur e out of the nozzle.
11- ENG D25690 HOW TO SIPHON CHEMICALS AND CLEANING SOL VENTS Siphoning chemicals or cleaning solvents is a low pressur e operation. NOTE: Use only soaps and chemicals designed for pressur e washer use. Do not use bleach. T o siphon chemicals: 1. Press chemical hose onto barbed fitting located near high pressur e hose connection of pump as shown.
12- ENG D25690 ST ARTING Prior to starting, refer to your engine manual for pr oper starting procedur es for your engine type. 1. In a well ventilated outdoor area Add fr esh high quality unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher . Do not overfill.
13- ENG D25690 How T o Change Pump Oil 1. Loosen oil fill cap. 2. Place a container under the oil drain plug. 3. Remove oil drain plug. 4. After oil is drained replace oil drain plug. Tighten securely . 5. Remove oil fill cap and fill with recommended oil.
14- ENG D25690 HOW TO CLEAN THE WA TER INLET FIL TER This screen filter should be checked periodically and cleaned if necessary . 1. Remove filter by grasping end and removing it fr om water inlet of pump as shown. 2. Clean filter by flushing it with water on both sides.
15- ENG D25690 ENGINE Consult the Engine Owners Manual for the manufacturer's r ecommendations for storage. PUMP It is recommended that you follow these steps to pr otect the internal seals of the pressur e washer when STORING THE UNIT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD and/or WHEN FREEZING TEMPERA TURES ARE EXPECTED.
