6 Installing the Switch The site where you place the Sw itch may gre atly af fect its performance. 2.1 In stallat ion Please f ollow the guide lines be low to install the Switc h: • Please inst all the Switch in a fairly cool and dry place.
7 2.3 Rack Installation The Switch is rack-mount able an d can be installed on an EIA 1 1-inch equipment rack. T o do t h is, first inst all the mounti ng bracket s on the Switc h’ s side p anels (one on each side), secure th em with the incl uded screws, a nd then use th e screws provided with the eq uipm ent rack t o mount the Switch.
8 Connecting the Switch This sectio n describes how to connect the Switch to yo ur 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet network. Y our network device (i.e. computer , switch, IP Camera, V oIP) can be conn ected to any p ort of the Switch via a t wo-pair UTP Category 5 Cable.
9 Troubleshooting 1. Power LED is not lit • Check if the power ad apter is proper ly connected to the power outlet. Make sure the pow er jack is firmly plugge d into the power socket of the swit ch.
