1 n Do not use an extension cord with this unit. However , if one is used, it must have a rating equal to or exceeding the rating of this appliance. n Do not unplug by pulling on cord. T o unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord. n Do not place this appliance or cord on or near a heat surface.

3 Operating Y our V acuum Sealer T o make a bag: 1. Place the unit on a firm, level sur face near an electrical outlet. 2. Insert the roll of bagging material in the roll compar t- ment in the sealer . W e recommend you use only the plastic material supplied by Deni, for Freshlock models.
4 ® V acuum sealing: 1. Place the item to be stored inside the bag. Do not fill completely . Allow a margin of 2 to 3 inches between the item and the open end of the bag. Make sure that the sealing area is free from liquid or food particles. Place the open end of the bag over the sealing wire and insert the vacuum nozzle completely inside the bag.
5 Hints and Tips n Boil-in-bag foods retain their flavor , the saucepan remains cleaner , cooking odors are reduced, and it saves energy . n The vacuum removes the air from the bag, prolonging storage life, and retaining food color . It also saves space in the freezer or cupboard.
