3. Remov e low er headlight pod bolt (from each side), located appro ximately 6 inches abov e horn brack et. Remov e three top headlight bolts and loosen long headlite bolt. Unplug and remov e headlite. 2. Remov e inner f ender to f acia screw . Do this on each side.
4. Remov e front nosecone assemb ly (fi ve bolts across the front, two b y each headlite outer edge, and one on each side by wheelw ell. 5. Pull front f acia out on each side by wheelw ell, and lift up on metal edge across the front. Pull f orward and unplug turn signal lites, and side marker lites.
6. Remov e front b umper styrof oam by drilling out pop-rivets , and set aside. One at a time replace all eight bumper bolts with eight heavy w ashers, and 8mm bolts and lockw ashers. 7. Slide each pull ear pod star ting from center of bumper out and measure appro ximately 1-13/16” from edge of center bumper channel to edge of pull ear pod.
9. Slide nut plate thru bumper hole and f asten with 3/8” x 1-1/4” bolts , and lockw ashers. 1996-1999 Ford T aurus 1996-1999 Mercury Sable 2000-2003 Ford T aurus 10. F asten angle brack et, with 3/8” x 1-1/4” bolts, fl atwashers , and lockw ashers to pod and loosely tighten.
11. Attach subframe mount ( ‘ 99 model uses narrow mount) with 1/2” x 4” bolts , lockw ashers, and n uts on bottom side. 1996-1999 Ford T aurus 1996-1999 Mercury Sable 2000-2003 Ford T aurus 12.
