As with all machinery , ther e are certain hazar ds involved with the operation of the pr oduct. Using the machine with respect and caution will considerably lessen the possibility of personal injury .
3 SA VE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. Refer to them often and use them to instruct others. ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR GRINDERS 1 . DO NOT OPERA TE THIS MACHINE until it is assembled and installed according to the instructions.
4 POWER CONNECTIONS A separate electrical circuit should be used for your machines. This cir cuit should not be less than #12 wir e and should be protected with a 20 Amp time lag fuse.
Use proper extension cor ds. Make sur e your extension cord is in good condition and is a 3-wir e extension cor d which has a 3-prong gr ounding type plug and matching r eceptacle which will accept the machine’ s plug. When using an extension cord, be sur e to use one heavy enough to carry the curr ent of the machine.

8 2. Align the holes in the eye shield with the holes in the spark guard and place the eye shield spacer (A) Fig. 7, in the space in the spark guard as shown. 3. Insert the eye shield bolt (A) Fig. 8, through the hole in the eye shield (B), eye shield spacer (C), and spark guard (D).
9 V ARIABLE SPEED CONTROL The grinder is equipped with a variable speed control (B) Fig. 10. When the variable speed control knob is positioned to the furthermost left position (counter clockwise), the RPM is 2000. The rotation incr eases as the knob is turned clockwise.
10 CHANGING GRINDING WHEELS 1. DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER SOURCE. 2. When changing wheels, r emove the scr ews attaching the side covers to the grinder and remove the side covers. 3. T o prevent shaft r otation, place a wedge between the grinding wheel and the tool rest.
