DS_NC12S30A_0522200 8 7 FEA TURES DESCRIPTIONS ENABLE (On/Off) The ENABLE (on/of f) input allows external ci rcuitry to put the NC converter into a low power dissipation (sle ep) mode. Positive (active-high) ENABLE is availa ble as stan dard. Positive ENABLE (active-high) units of the NC series are turned on if the ENABLE pin is high or floating.
DS_NC12S30A_0522200 8 8 Over T emperature Protection (OTP) T o provid e additional over-temperature protection in a fault condition, the unit is equipped with a non-latch ing thermal shutd own circuit. The shutdown circuit engages when the temperature of monitored compone nt exceeds approximately 130 ℃ .
DS_NC12S30A_0522200 8 9 FEA TURES DESCRIPTIONS (CON.) Output V oltage Programming The output voltage of the NC serie s is trimmable by connecting an external resistor betwe en the trim pin and output ground as shown Figure 31 and the typical trim resistor values are shown in Figure 32.
DS_NC12S30A_0522200 8 10 THERMAL CONSIDERA TI ON Thermal management is an important part of the system design. To ensure proper, reliable operation , sufficient cooling of the power module is need ed over the entire temperature rang e of the module. Convection cooling is usually the dominant mode of heat transfer.
