DESIGN CONSIDERA TIONS Input Source Impedance The impedance of the input sou rce connecting to the DC/DC powe r modules will interact with the mod ules and affect the st ability . A low ac-impedance input source is recommended. If the source induct ance is more than a few µ H, we advise adding a 10 to 100 µ F electrolytic capa citor (ESR < 0.
FEA TURES DESCRIPTIONS Over-Current Protection The modules include an internal output over-curre nt protection circuit, which will endure current limiting for an unlimited duration during output overload. If the output current exceeds the OCP set point, the modul es will automatically shut down (hiccup mode).
FEA TURES DESCRIPTIONS (CON.) Output V oltage Adjustment (TRIM) To increase or decrea se the output voltage set point, connect an external resi stor between the TRIM pin and either the SENSE(+) or SENSE(-). The TRIM pin should be left open if this feature is not used.
THERMAL CONSI DERA TIONS Thermal management is an importa nt part of the system design. To ensure prop er, reliable operation, sufficient cooling of the power mod ule is needed over the entire temperature range of the modul e. Convection coolin g is usually the dominant mode of heat transfer.
