CLEANING YOUR TOASTER Cleaning the Crumb Tray 2. Lift off the toaster and clean the crumb tray. Discard the crumbs from the crumb tray. Wipe the crumb tray with a soft, damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Do not use harsh abrasives to clean the crumb tray, they will scratch the surface.
