-9- OLD F ASHIONED BEAN SOUP 2 ⁄ 3 cup dry Great Northern beans, softened 2 tablespoons chopped celer y leaves 2 cups water 1 ⁄ 2 cup chopped onion 1 ⁄ 4 cup chopped ham 1 small bay leaf Salt and ground black pepper to taste Put all ingredients in stoneware.
-10- RICE PILAF 1 can (10 1 ⁄ 2 -oz.) beef consummé 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 can (4-oz.) sliced mushrooms, drained 1 ⁄ 3 cup finely chopped onion 1 cup raw converted rice Put all ingredients in stoneware.
-11- CARAMEL RUM FONDUE 1 package (14-oz.) caramels 2 ⁄ 3 cup cream 1 ⁄ 2 cup miniature marshmallows 1 tablespoon rum (or 1 ⁄ 2 teaspoon rum extract Combine caramels and cream in stoneware. Cover and cook until melted, 2 to 3 hours. Stir in marshmallows and rum/rum extract.
