Using Y our SoundW orks 500D AB 3-4 Manual (MAN) scan This option enables you to manually scan for st ations within the same ensemble, or for other ensembles in the Band III frequency (see “Glossary” on page A-1) that are broadcasted in your country or region.

Using Y our SoundW orks 500D AB 3-6 Using Autoselect The A utoselect mode enables you to switch between stations without ha ving to previe w them. When in A utoselect mode, turn the TUNING knob and wait two seco nds to switch between stations. T o previe w stations, turn A utoselect off.
3-7 Using Y our SoundW orks 500D AB • There are 5 dif ferent INFO displays av ailable for DAB mode: 1 Indicates genre of music being played. 2 Name of a group of stations broadcasted on the same frequency . The number of ensembles you can receiv e depends on your location.
Using Y our SoundW orks 500D AB 3-8 Adjusting the FM tuning step T o scan your FM stations using a differ ent tuning step, follo w the steps below: 1. Make sure you are in FM mode (see abo ve). 2. Press and hold the INFO button until you see a disp lay similar to Figure 3-16.

A display similar above appears. T o store a station as a preset, see “Stori ng and recalling your stations” on page 4-1.
Using Basic Functions 4-1 4 Using Basic Functions Storing and recalling y our stations Y our radio can store up to 6 D AB an d 6 FM radio stations as presets. 1. T o store a station you are listening to, press and hold the PRESETS button you want to store the station in.
4-2 Using Basic Functions Checking the sleep timer setting 1. Press and hold the SLEEP button for two seconds. The amount of time left is displayed on the bottom-right corner of the display . 2. T o deactiv ate the sleep timer , press the SLEEP button repeatedly until the display in Figure 4-2 appears.
Using Basic Functions 4-3 4. Press the TUNING knob to go to the hours section. A display similar to Figure 4-4 appears. The current time is shown on the left of th e LCD. The hour section of your alarm time flashes. 5. Repeat step 2. 6. Press the TUNING knob to go to the Alarm T ype submenu.
4-4 Using Basic Functions T o activ ate the alarm Press the ALARM but to n . T he ON alarm status appears. An asterisk also appears on the LCD similar to Figure 4-6. T o deactivate the alarm Press the ALARM but to n . T he OFF alarm status appears. The asterisk on the LCD disappears.
Using Basic Functions 4-5 T o turn off the Snooze function Press the ST ANDBY or ALARM bu tt on . • The alarm automatically turns of f after one hour . • When the radio is playing, you can press the SNOOZE b utton to mute the radi o. T o turn of f the mute function, press the SNOOZE button again.
4-6 Using Basic Functions The software version may v ary . Using the A UX IN jack Use the 3.5 mm stereo-to-stereo cable provided to connect an ex ternal device, like your CD or MP3 player to the A UX IN jack on your ra dio. See “Y our D AB/FM Radio” on page 1-1.
