iNSTALLiNG THE BATTERY PACK (Fig. 4) Fig. 4 1. 2. Place the battery pack into the rear handle of the trimmer, aligning the raised rib on battery pack with grooves on trimmer. Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack "snap" into place, and the battery pack is secured in the trimmer before beginning operation.
ATTACHING THE AUXiLiARY HANDLE (Fig. 7 and 7a) NOTE: THE AUXiLiARY HANDLE MUST BE ATTACHED to the trimmer shaft before use. 1. Remove the battery pack from the trimmer. AUTOMATIC LiNE FEED SYSTEM (Fig. 15 and 16) When turning the trimmer ON for the first time a small length of line will automatically be fed out of the spool. To extend the line out to the full 12-inch cutting path, it will be necessary to start the trimmer and completely stop the trimmer approximately 4 to 5 times.
