KNOWYOUR TRACTOR READ THIS OWNER'S MANUAL AND SAFETY RULES BEFORE OPERATING YOUR TRACTOR Compare the illustrations with your tractor to familiarize yourself with the locations of various controls and adjustments. Save this manual for future reference.
The operation of any tractor can result in foreign objects thrown into the eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Always wear safety glasses or eye shields while operating your tractor or performing any adjustments or repairs. We recommend standard safety glasses or a wide vision safety mask worn over spectacles.
The cutting height range is approximately 1-1/2" to 4-1/2". The heights are mea- sured from the ground to the blade tip with the engine not running. These heights are approximate and may vary depending upon soil conditions, height of grass and types of grass being mowed.
TO TRANSPORT • Raise attachment lift to highest position with attachment lift control. • When pushing or towing your tractor, be sure gearshift lever is in neutral (N) posi- tion.
• The attachments and ground drive can now be used. If the engine does not accept the load, restart the engine and allow it to warm up for one minute using the choke as described above. • Keep battery and terminals clean. • Keep battery bolts tight. • Keep small vent holes open. • Recharge at 6-10 amperes for 1 hour. NOTE: The original equipment battery on your tractor is maintenance free. Do not attempt to open or remove caps or covers.
ENGINE OIL FILTER Replace the engine oil filter every season or every other oil change if the tractor is used more than 100 hours in one year. AIR FILTER Your engine will not run properly using a dirty air filter. Clean the foam pre-cleaner after every 25 hours of operation or every season.
WARNING: TO AVIOD SERIOUS INJURY, BEFORE PERFORMING ANY i_ SERVICE OR ADJUSTMENTS: 1. Depress clutch/brake pedal fully and set parking brake. 2. Place gearshift lever in neutral (N) position. 3. Place attachment clutch in "DISENGAGED" position.
5. Install belt into electdc clutch pulley groove. 6. Place the suspension arms on outward pointing deck pins. Retain with double loop retainer spring with loops up as shown. 7. Install front plate assembly to tractor suspension brackets and retain with single loop retainer springs as shown.
Check adjustment on right side of tractor. Position any blade so the tip is pointing straight forward. Measure distance "B" at front and rear tip of blade • Before making any necessary adjust- ments, check that both front links are equal in length.
TO REPLACE MOWER BLADE (SEC- ONDARY) DRIVE BELT Park the tractor on level surface. Engage parking brake. 1. Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this section of manual). 2. Remove screws from R.H, and L.H, mandrel covers and remove covers.
TO ADJUST ATTACHMENT CLUTCH The electric clutch should provide years of service. The clutch has a built-in brake that stops the pulley within 5 seconds. Eventually, the internal brake will wear which may cause the mower blades to not engage, or, to not stop as required.

Immediately prepare your tractor for storage at the end of the season or if the tractor will not be used for 30 days or more. _CAUTION: Never store the tractor with gasoline in the tank inside a building where fumes may reach an open flame or spark.
