NOTE: Do not plug your extension cord into the power sourcerecep- tacle (outlet)prior to routing it through the cord retainer and connecting the extension cord to the mower's cord outlet receptacle. To properly route your extension cord through the cord retainer: 1.

Replacing Trail Shield Never operate mowerunlessthe trail shield is in place and working. Never operate mowerwith damaged safetydevices.Failure to do so can resultin personal injury. BLADE CARE Periodically inspect the blade adapter for cracks, especially if you strike a foreign object.
Blade Sharpening To properly sharpen the cutting blades,remove equal amounts of metalfrom both ends d the blades along the cutting edges, parallel to the trailing edge, at a 250to 300angle. See Figure 16. Figure 16 J NOTE: It is important that each cutting bladeedge be groundequally to maintain proper bladebalance.
OFF-SEASON STORAGE The followingsteps should be takento prepareyour lawn mowerfor storage: • Clean and lubricate mowerthoroughly as described in the lubrica- tion instructions. • Remove any buildupof grass and leaves on or around the motor cover(do not use water).
Always stop the motorand unplugmowerbefore cleaning,lubricating or performing any repairs or maintenance on the lawn mower. Always wear safety glasses during operation or while performing any adjustments or repairs. Motorfailsto start 1. Cord disconnected from the motor/blade control.
