6 1.3 Basic Setup Please follow the instructio ns below to conf igure the 2757 and mak e it ready to use. 1. Unpack the box and chec k for m issing items. 2. Connect an Eth ernet c able to the W AN jack on t he b ottom o f the 2 75 7. Be sure t he o ther end of this cable con nects to your network .
7 7. All the lighted but tons on the phone sh ould no w briefly light. If not, please verif y that the phone has pow er . 7.1 B y default, the 2757 will use Dynam ic Host Configurati on Protocol (DHC P) to obtain an IP address autom atically . Y ou will see the mes sage below during th is time.
8 2 Netw ork Setup 2.1 St atic IP Address 1. Press ‘Menu’ 2. Pres s ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘3. Settin gs’ is highlighted, th en press ‘Select’ . 3. Pres s ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘4. S ystem Conf iguration’ is s elected, then press ‘Selec t’.
9 4. Press ‘Select’ when ‘1: Network Setting’ is hi ghlighted. Use ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ to change network setting to ‘S tatic’. Press ‘S ave’. 5. Press ‘Down’ until ‘2. IP Address (S tatic)’ is selec ted, and press ‘Select’.
10 6. Now you mus t set the subnet m ask. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Do wn’ until ‘3. Su bnet m ask (S tatic)’ is selected, then pr ess ‘Select’. Y ou’ ll be prom pted to input th e subnet m ask. Use the m ethod described abov e to enter the s ubnet m ask.
1 1 10. If you onl y need to change the network s ettings, but don’t nee d to change th e SIP server inform ation (i.e. this is not an in itial setup), you must save the new network settings and reboot the 2757. T o save t he new networ k settings, pre ss ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ u ntil ’20.

13 5. Pres s ‘Down’ until ‘7. PPP oE Usernam e’ is se lected, and press ‘Select’. Y ou’ ll be prom pted to enter a PPPoE user name. Us e the numeric k eypad to input your usernam e. For exam ple, to enter ‘B’, p ress ‘2’ rap idl y 3 times.
14 7. No w press ‘Down’ until ‘9. PPPoE Authm ode’ is se lected, and press ‘Select’. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ t o select the PPP oE authentication m ode. After selecting eit her ‘P AP’ or ‘CHAP’, press ‘Save’ to save the setting.
15 10. T o reboot the 2757, press ‘Do wn’ to m ove to ’21. Reb oot S ystem’, and press ‘ Select’. ‘Rebooting’ will appear on the LC D screen. After the reboot is c ompleted, the 2757 is ready for use. 2.3 DHCP W hen using DHCP , an IP address will be issued t o your IP phone by the DHC P server on your local network .
16 3. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘4. System Configuration’ i s selecte d, then press ‘S elect’. 4. Press ‘Select’ on ‘1: Network Setting’, and use ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ to c hange network setting to ‘DHCP’, then press ‘Save’.
17 7. T o reboot the 2757, press ‘Do wn’ to m ove to ’21. Reb oot S ystem’, and press ‘ Select’. ‘Rebooting’ will appear on the LC D screen. After the reboot is c ompleted, the 2757 is ready for use. 2.4 Network Setup (W eb Configuration) Y ou can also configure the network by using a web br owser .
18 3. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘5. Model Inform ation’ is se lected, then press ‘Select’. 4. Pres s ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘4. IP Address is hi ghlighted. Mak e a note of the IP address, and then press ‘Ex it’ three tim es to retur n to the main m enu.
19 2. After you have logged in, you will see a summ ary of the current n etwork settin gs. T o make changes or enter additional infor mation, click ‘Network ’ on the left. 3. On this screen, you can ch oose the connecti on mode ( static IP , PPPoE, or DHC P), enter the IP address in static IP mode, and enter PPPo E userna me and password.
20 4. Now click ‘Management’ o n the left. T hen click the ‘Configurat ion Comm it / Reset’ tab. Press ‘COMMIT…’. W hen the ‘ Configurat ion O K’ mes sage a ppears, the n etwork s ettings have been saved. 5. Now click ‘Management’ a gain.
21 2.5 SIP Server Info r mation Setup After the network setup is c om pleted, the SIP server inf ormation mus t be entered. 1. Press ‘Menu’ 2. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘3. Settings’ is selected, t hen press ‘Select ’. 3. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘4.
22 4. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ’14. SIP Proxy’ is s elected, th en press ‘Select’ . Use the num eric ke y pad to ent er the IP address of your SIP proxy . After the IP address is ent ered, press ‘Save’ t o keep changes, or ‘Cancel’ to discard.
23 7. Press ‘Down’ until ’1 7. SIP Phone Num ’ is selected, th en press ‘Select’ . Use the num eric ke y pad to ent er your SIP phone num ber . After the SIP Phone Num ber is entered, press ‘Save’ t o keep changes, or ‘Cancel’ to discard.
24 10. After all the settings are do ne, press ‘Do wn’ unti l ’20. Com mit Changes’ is selected, then press ‘Select’. W hen ’Chan ges saved’ is displa yed on the LCD s creen, all the s ettings are saved. 1 1. Press ‘Down’ to m ove to ’21.
25 2.6 SIP Server Info r mation Setup (Web Co nfiguration) The web interf ace can also be used to enter SIP information. This is the onl y way to enter m ultiple SIP usernames and passwords . Please refer to Section 2.4.2 to access the web i nterface.
26 4. Click ‘Managem ent’. T hen click the ‘C onfiguration C omm it / Reset’ tab and pres s ‘COMMIT…’. W hen you see ‘Conf iguration O K’, the network s ettings have bee n properl y saved. 5. Click ‘Managem ent’. Cl ick ‘System Restart’ tab, and then click ‘REST ART…’ button.
27 2.7 A c cepting and Making Pho ne Calls After completing the net work and SIP settings, you can use the 2757 t o make and accept phone calls. 2.7.1 Accepting phone c alls Before you can rec eive pho ne calls, your phone mus t be registered to a SIP server .
28 The phone will ring when a c all is received. The line selector button besi de the LCD will also flash. If your service pro vider supports Caller ID, th e phone n umber of the calling party will be displa yed on the LCD sc reen. T o answer the ca ll, pick up the handset, press ‘ S peak er ’, or press ‘ Answer ’.
29 The call is now on hold. Y ou will hear dial ton e again. T he rem ote party will hear music if the phone or server is c onfigur ed to deliver it. There are two t ypes of call transfer – Attended and Blind. In an Atte nded transf er the party initiating the tra nsfer rem ains connected until th e transf er is completed.
30 2.7.2.1.2 Blind T ransfer T o perform a blind transfer , dial the asterisk key ‘ * ’ after dialing the phone number for the transfer . Y ou will see the follo wing message d isplayed on t he LCD screen: At this point, the c all will be transferred.
31 Before the third part y answers, you may drop the ca ll by pressing ‘End ’. The origin al party will then return as a n ew call. Press ‘Ans wer ’ t o return to the con versation. After the connection is m ade, you w ill see the f ollowing m essage disp layed on LCD s creen.
32 2.7.2.3 Line 2 Pressing this k ey places th e distant party on hold and prov ides a new dial ton e. A n ew call can then be placed. Y ou can toggle bet ween these calls with the ‘Switch ’ butto n. A second SIP registration is no t required f or this function.
33 2.8 Caller ID on Ca ll W aiting The 2757 supports Cal ler ID on Call Waiting. W ith this ser vice, the 2757 will notif y you if you receive a second ca ll while you are o n the phone. It will also displ ay the num ber of the secon d call. P lease note that t his service m ust be provided by your ISP or V oIP PBX.
34 2.9 Calling History The 2757 m aintains a calling histor y database. Y ou c an check f or outgoing calls, incom ing calls, and missed calls. 1. Press ‘Menu’ 2. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ ‘2. unti l Call Records’ is selected, then press ‘Select’.
35 2.9.1 Missed Calls All unanswered ca lls will be listed h ere. Y ou can use ‘Up’ a nd ‘Down’ to move in this list. Pres s ‘Dial’ to ca ll the num ber selected, pr ess ‘Delete’ to delete a selected entr y , or pres s ‘Exit’ to ret urn to previous m enu.
36 2.10 Call Rejection (DN D) Do Not Disturb (D ND) can be use d to avoid phon e calls. T o activate DND, pr ess ‘DND’. T he icon will be dis played on the LCD screen. W hen DND is activated, callers will hear bus y tone or a voic e mail m essage if voice mail is av ailable.
37 2.1 1.2 Headset T o use a headset, insert the he adset plug into the hea dset jack of the 2757 as sho wn below . After the headset is connec ted, press ‘HEADSET’ to make and receive c alls. 3 Speed Dial & A dvance d Phone Configuration 3.1 Sp eed Dial The 2757 has 5 sp eed dial buttons .
38 2. Num bers c an now be entered in th e spaces for S peed Dial 1 – 5. Onl y numbers m ay be placed in these spaces. T o save the settings, press ‘ Submit’ on the bottom of the webpage. 3.2 Call For w arding The 2757 supports three m ethods of c all forwarding.
39 3.3.2 End of Dial Ke y W hen enabled, the ‘#’ k ey will forc e immediate dialing. 3.3.3 DTMF T ype This controls the method by which DTMF tones are delivered. T he correct m ethod will d epend on the target application. For example, m any IVR system s will require In- Band tone.
40 3.3.12 Set Ti me Zone The 2757 supports tim e zones base d on GMT . 3.3.13 NTP Server Address The 2757 keeps time based on signals from a Network T ime Protocol (NTP) server . Enter a valid NTP server address here. 3.4 Entry of Call For ward numbers from ph one Call forwarding n umbers can also be set from the phone.
41 3. Press ‘Down’ to highl ight the desired t ype of call f orward. Press ‘Select ’. 4. Enter the num ber using the k eyp a d. Press ‘Sa ve’ to s ave changes. Press ‘Clear ’ to erase a number , or press ‘C ancel’ t o keep the orig inal num ber unchanged.
42 2. Phone book entries will be displ ayed on this page, an d new nam es and num bers m ay be entered. After entering th e number and the name, press ‘Add’ to sa ve the entr y . T o delete an existin g entry , enter t he phone num ber in the ‘Number ’ field, and t hen press ‘Delete’.
43 2. All ph one book entries will be d isplayed here. Us e ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ t o select a ph one book entry to dial. 3. After selecti ng a phone bo ok entry , press ‘Dial’ to dial the phone num ber , or ‘Exit’ to return to the previous m enu.
44 6. T o delete all phone b ook entries press ‘DelAll’ when the phone book entries are displa yed. Y ou will be prom pted to press 1 or 2 key (1 for YES and 2 for NO ). 3.6 Browse Sy stem Information System inform ation (IP address, m odel information, fir m ware version…etc.

47 3.7 Change Display Language The default langua ge of the 2757 is English. Ho wever , it can be ch anged to Ch inese. 1. Press ‘Menu’ 2. Press ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ until ‘3. Settings’ is selected, t hen press ‘Select ’. 3. ‘1. Language’ should be selected when this m enu is entered.
48 4. Al l available l anguages will be displayed here. A ‘V’ sign will a ppear on the currentl y s elected language. Use ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ t o select the des ired language, and press ‘ Select’. Press ‘Exit’ to l eave this m enu without mak ing any changes.
