Appendix A: Troubleshoot ing 29 Windows 98 fails to detect the scanner w hen you connect it for the first time (PC ONLY). Check if the sc anner is connec ted with the USB cable to y our com puter and that the AC adapter is plugged in. It can always happen that a USB port is dam aged, therefor e try the other USB port of your com puter.
