- 5 - Compur Ex plus 1. Einsatzbereich Das Compur Ex plus ist ein handliches, leicht bedienbare s, akkubetriebenes Messgerät zur Detektion brennbarer Gase oder Dämpfe in der Umgebungsluft.
- 6 - Durch die Sintermetallscheibe diffundiert das zu detektierende Gas in den Sensor an das Detektorelement. Dieses Element besteht aus einer elektrisch beheizten Wendel, die mit Katalysatormaterial beschichtet ist.

Normaler Betriebsmodus des Compur Ex plus Das Com pur Ex plus wird wahlweise mit einem Standard - Akku (NiMH, Betriebszeit 4 h bei 20°C) oder einem Langzeit - Akku (NiCd, Betriebszeit 15 h bei 20°C) ausgerüstet. Bei Auslieferung des Gerätes ist der jeweils mitgelieferte Akku bereits voll aufgeladen.

- 10 - 3.3.2 Messbetrieb Nach dem Selbsttest in Schalterstellung „ ON “ bef indet sich das Compur Ex plus in Messbetrieb. An der Anzeige erscheint nach wenigen Sekunden die aktuelle Gaskonzentration in % UEG.
- 11 - ? ? Stecken Sie den Ohrhörer in die Ohrhörerbuchse. Dabei wird der interne akustische Signalgeber nicht abgeschaltet. ? ? Wenn der Ohrhörer nicht mehr benötigt wird, verschließen Sie bitte die Lasche des Stoßschutzes wieder. Wird der Ohrhörer eingesetzt, sollte der Selbsttest des Compur Ex plus mit angeschlossenem Ohrhörer erfolgen.

- 13 - 4.1 Nullabgleich Mit dieser Funktion erfolgt ein interner Nullabgleich des Sensorsignals. Dabei ist darauf zu achten, dass die Einstellung des Nullpunktes in sauberer Umgebungsluft stattfindet. ? ? Schalten Sie das Gerät in Stellung „ TEST “.
- 14 - 4.2.1 Kalibrierung für Gase Gehen Sie bitte folgendermaßen vor: ? ? Schalten Sie das Gerät in Stellung „ TEST “. Der Selbsttest wird durchgeführt. ? ? Fü hren Sie dann einen Nullabgleich durch. ? ? Im Anzeigefenster erscheint „ GCAL “.
- 15 - 4.2.2 Kalibrierung für Lösemitteldämpfe Eine Kalibrierung mit Lösemittel ist sehr aufwendig. Durch die Verwendung eines Korrekturfaktors, der auf dem Sensor auf gedruckt ist, kann jedoch die Kalibrierung mit einem Ersatzprüfgas (Methan für Methanol, Butan für alle anderen Lösemitteldämpfe) durchgeführt werden.
- 16 - Einstellen der Alarmschwelle A2 ? ? Schalten Sie das Gerät in Stellung „ TEST “. Der Selbsttest wird durchgeführt. ? ? Mit dem Be dienerstift die Taste „ Cal “ drücken. Im Anzeigefenster erscheint „ 000 “, d. h. der Nullabgleich wird gerade durchgeführt.
- 17 - 4.5 Filterwechsel 4.5.1 Wechsel der Filterkappe Nach längerem Einsatz des Compur Ex plus kann der Filter in der Filterkappe verschmutzt sein. Wechseln Sie dann die Filterkappe aus. ? ? Verge wissern Sie sich, dass sich das Compur Ex plus in Schalterstellung „ OFF “ befindet.
- 18 - ? ? Den Aktivkohlefilter auf den Sensor bündig aufdrücken. ? ? Stecken Sie den Sensor nun wieder vorsichtig in das Gerät. ? ? Setzen Sie die Filterk appe mit einer kleinen Drehung nach rechts in das Gerät ein. ? ? Klappen Sie die Schutzmanschette wieder über die Filterkappe.

Statusmeldungen Die im Anzeigefenster erscheinenden Statusmeldungen info rmieren Sie über den aktuellen Betriebszustand des Compur Ex plus bzw. im Gerät auftretende Fehler oder Wartungsaufforderungen. Die Akkukapazität ist erschöpft. Voralarm: konstante Anzeige „batt“; unterbrochener Ton; kann mit der Resettaste quittiert wer den.

- 25 - Compur Ex plus 1. Application The Compur Ex plus is a handy lightweight gasdetector for the measurement of combustibles in ambient air. Standard measuring range is 0 bis 100 % LEL.
- 26 - In order to compensate for environmental influences like temperature, humidity, wind etc. a second coil without catalytic coating is used as an inactive compensation element. Both elements ar e electrically connected in a Wheatstone bridge. If a combustible gas diffuses to the detector element, it is oxydized by the catalytic material.
- 27 - 3. The Compur Ex plus in Operating Mode The Compur Ex plus is available with a standard battery (NiMH, operation time 4 h at 20°C) or a longterm battery (NiCd, min. oper ation time 15 h at 20°C). When leaving the factory, the batteries are fully charged.

- 29 - 3.2 How to Use the Compur Ex plus After switching on the Compur Ex plus detector, the instrument will show for approx. 20 seconds the software version (i.e. –1.1 - ) on the display. During this time the sensor will reach its working temperature.
- 30 - The first battery alarm will sound if the battery voltage drops below a preset threshold. The buzzer will sound and the LCD display will show “ batt ”. In this case the remaining battery capacity is sufficient for at least 30 minutes operation.
