10 Using y our Rang e Cooktop Burners The dra wing by each knob indicates which burner that knob controls. Each burner has a special safety de vice that stops the fl ow of gas if the fl ame goes out. Push in and turn a knob to the ( ) lighting position.
11 Using y our Rang e 3. T urn bur ner control knob to OFF position when fi nished. Y ou can remov e the burner cap and head f or cleaning, see page 24. Y ou should wipe the enamel top surf ace of the range around the cooktop b ur ners as soon as possible after spills occur .
12 Using y our Rang e The Ovens During use the appliance becomes hot. Care should be taken to a v oid touching the heating elements inside the ov en. The clock m ust be set to the time of day bef ore the ov ens will work. See ‘The Clock’ section for instructions on setting the time of day .
13 Using y our Rang e The Clock Setting the time of da y Setting knob Adjusting knob When the clock is fi rst connected the display will fl ash ( ) and ( ) alternately . T o set the clock to read the time of da y tur n and hold the Setting knob to the clock symbol ( ).
14 Using y our Rang e T o start and stop the oven automatically (dela yed baking) Bef ore you set the cloc k, you must ha ve tw o numbers clearly in mind. The ‘cook time’, which is the period of time you want the o ven to cook. The maximum cooking time is 11 hours 59 minutes .
15 Using y our Rang e T o turn off the key loc k T ur n and hold the Setting knob to the clock symbol ( ) for about 8 seconds. ‘Of ’ will appear on the displa y . K eep holding the Setting knob tur ned to the clock symbol ( ) and tur n the Adjusting knob clockwise until the k ey symbol ( ) goes out on the displa y .
16 Using y our Rang e Both o vens Bef ore using for the fi rst time, heat the ov ens to 400°F f or 30 minutes to e xpel manufacturing odors. The wire rac ks should alwa ys be pushed fi rmly to the back of the o ven. Bake ware , meat pans etcetera should be placed le vel centrally on the o ven’ s wire racks.
17 Using y our Rang e Convection o ven This function operates the f an and the heating element around it. An e v en heat is produced throughout the ov en, allowing y ou to cook large amounts quickly . F an ov en cooking is par ticular ly suitable f or multi-rac k cooking and is a good ‘all-round’ function.
18 Using y our Rang e Handyrack The maximum weight than can be held b y the Handyrac k is 12lb (5.5kg). It should only be used with the supplied meat tin, which is designed to fi t the Handyr ack. An y other vessel could be unstable . The Handyrac k fi ts on the ov en door .
19 Using y our Rang e T o refi t the rac k, line up the rack with a g roove in the ov en side and push the rac k back until the ends hit the rac k stop. Lift up the front so the rac k ends clear the rack stops , and then lower the front so that the rac k is lev el and push it fully back.

22 Using y our Rang e Cleaning your range Essential inf or mation Bef ore thorough cleaning isolate the electr icity supply . Remember to switch on the electricity supply bef ore use. Never use paint solvents, caustic cleaner s, biological powders, bleac h, chlorine based bleac h cleaners, coar se abrasives or salt.
23 Using y our Rang e Cooktop b urners Some models hav e a separate trim ring, which fi ts on the b ur ner head. The burner heads and caps can be remov ed f or cleaning.
24 Using y our Rang e Ovens The main ov en side lining panels can be remov ed f or cleaning and for cleaning behind. They can also be put into a dishw asher . Remo ve the rac ks fi rst. Each side of the ov en is fi x ed with f our fi xing screws . Y ou don’t ha ve to remo ve the scre ws to remov e the ov en linings.
25 Using y our Rang e The oven is not cooking e venly Do not use a tin or tra y larger than 11 3 / 8 ” x 13” in the main ov en or 9" x 12 1 / 2 " in the T all ov en. If you are cooking a large item, be prepared to tur n it round during cooking.
