2 DANGER • FOR OUTDOOR USE ON L Y . NEVER operate grill in enclosed areas, as this could lead to gas accumulating from a leak, causing an e xplosion or a carbon monoxide buildup which could result in injur y or death. DO NO T use in garages, breez ewa ys, sheds or any enclosed area.
3 • Installation must conf or m with local codes or , in the absence of local codes, with either the National Fuel Gas Code , ANSI Z223.1 (USA), Natur al Gas and Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1 (Canada), or Propane Stor age and Handling Code, CSA B149.
4 Longer detachable po wer-supply cords or extension cords m ust be used with care. The marked electrical rating of the cord set or e xtension cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type , the e xtension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.

7 PLANNING AND DESIGN Star t by identifying the n umber and size of components you w ant to include in your outdoor cooking center . Counter tops must be constructed of non-combustib le, outdoor-saf e mater ials. Consider outdoor lighting to illuminate after-dark grilling.

Natural Gas Installation — 8350 Series NO TE: Y our 8350 Series grill is set up from the f actor y to use NA TURAL GAS. If you w ant to use LP GAS, y ou must purchase the LP GAS CONVERSION KIT (sold separately). Please skip to the section titled “ LP Cylinder Con version - 8350 Series ” .

Liquefied P etroleum gas (abbre viated L.P . gas or propane), is highly flammable . It becomes liquid when stored under high pressure inside a cylinder and vaporizes when released.
13 CAUTION Hav e the gas dealer weigh the cylinder after filling to ensure that the cylinder is not ov er filled. The pressure regulator and hose assembly with the T ype 1 fitting supplied with the appliance must be used.
14 A. Hose end valv e with a bleed port (Fig. 11): Purging can be accomplished using a hose end valv e containing a bleed port which also allows for e vacuation without the use of an adapter . B. Hose end v alve without a b leed por t: When a hose end valv e does not hav e a bleed por t, a separate de vice must be used for e vacuation.

16 1. Regular ly check the b ur ner venturi tubes f or bloc kage from an insect nest. Read “Cleaning the V enturi” in the section titled “Care, Maintenance, and Cleaning”, and also the section titled “T roubleshooting”. 2. Check that all the b ur ner venturi [H] are set ov er the valv e outlets [J] correctly .
17 Lighting Main Burners CAUTION Use a LONG wooden match or a b utane lighter with an extension. Make sure all b ur ner controls are off e xcept for the burner being lighted. If a long-reach match or lighter is not accessible , there is a match extension provided.
18 Using the Rotisserie — 8350 Series The grill rotisserie system is designed to cook items from the back using infrared heat. The rotisser ie b ur ner is an infrared type which provides intense searing radiant heat.
19 Lighting the Rotisserie Burner 1. Push and turn on the control knob for the RO TISSERIE BURNER counterclockwise to the “HIGH” position (Fig. 17 and 22). W ait 5 seconds. 2. Press and hold the electronic igniter button (Fig. 23). Y ou w ill hear a snapping sound.
20 Good Bad Y ellow Blue Holes in Bur ner Y ellow Blue Burner Control Setting Tips • The high flame setting is too hot f or direct cooking. The high flame setting is good f or quick searing of meat, then finish cooking on medium or low flame settings .
21 Direct Method: • The heat source is directly below the f ood. • Use f or browning meat or cooking hot dogs and hamburgers, but check f ood frequently . • Use f or skillet and stir-fr y cooking, but limit the amount of oil and heat to be used.
22 REPRESENT A TIVE ILLUSTRA TION Steps For Cleaning V enturi: 1. Remove the cooking gr ates and the heat tents and set aside. 2. Using a 1/4” he x nut driver , remove the self-tapping scre ws holding the front heat shield (Fig. 28 and 29). Set the front heat shield aside.
