2 Mounting and Connections Select a location for the transceiv er and micro- phone bracket that is conv enient for operation. In automobiles , the transceiv er is usually mounted to the underneath of the dash panel, with the microphone bracket beside it.
3 4 Connect the red lead of DC pow er cord to a n accessory 12 volt fuse. 5 Connect the orange lead to a c onstant 12v fuse (ie: cigarette light er or direct to batter y) 6 Connect the black lead to the negative side of the automobile . This is usually the chassis.
4 T urning on T urn volume contr ol clockwise to turn power on and set the desired listening volum e. CB Antenna Only a properly matched antenna sy stem will allow maximum power output. In mobile installations (cars, trucks, boats, etc.), an antenna system tha t is non-directional should b e used .

The microphone MUST be connected to the unit a t all times when in use, for proper operation. S quelch This contr ol is used to cut off or eliminate rec eiver background noise in the absence of an incoming signal.

7 3. T o achieve the Desired Squelch Setting (DSS), turn the Squelch control c ounterclockwise until you hear noise. Now turn the contr ol clockwise just until the noise stops .
Channel Selection 8 Set CB or WX Mode Set on CB mode. Rotate channel k nob clockwise until desired channel is display ed. Channel 9/Channel 19 Press CH 9/19 t o obtain instant access to emergency channel 9. Press again for inf ormation CH 19. CB/W eather CB mode is for normal CB opera tion.
9 Dual W atch This featur es allows the user to scan betw een two selected channels. 1. Select first channel, CB mode. 2. Press and hold DW unt il LED begins flashing and beeps once. 3. Select second channel. Pre ss DW un til L ED lig hts steady and radio beeps twice.
10 The SoundT r acker System reduces noise while leaving the signal intact in the reception mode . In the transmission mode, it strengthens the sig- nal, providing you with a significant reduction in noise on reception and transmission.
11 Activating Soundtr acker 1. Press the SoundT racker button on the upper left side of front panel. A red indicator will illuminate when the SoundT r acker system is engaged.
12 S/RF Po wer Meter Shows relative tr ansmitter RF output power and input signal strength when r eceiving. T he LED (Light Emitting Diode) segments glow green to amber to red ...this indicates receive or tr ansmit activity. RX/T X Indicator LED RX indicator will light when in the r eceive mode .
13 Rear Panel Antenna C onnector . This female connector per- mits connection of the transmission line cable male connector to the transceiv er . External Speaker . The External Speaker Jack is used for an external speaker . The external speak- er should have 8-ohm impedanc e and be rated to handle at least 4.
14 Ignition Noise Interference Use of a mobile receiv er at low signal lev els is nor- mally limited by the presence of electrical noise. Under most operating con ditions, when signal level is adequate , the background noise does not present a serious problem .
15 Operating Pr ocedure to Rec eive 1. Be sure that power c ord , antenna and microphone are connected to the pr oper connectors before pr oceeding further . The weather switch should be in the "CB" position. 2. T urn the radio ON b y rotating the VOL UME CONTROL clockwise.
