2 Mounting and C onnec tions Selec t a location f or the transceiv er and micro- phone bracket that is con venient f or operation. In automobiles , the transc eiver is usually mount ed to the underneath of the dash panel, with the microphone br acket beside it.
3 4 Connect the red lead of DC po wer c ord to an accessor y 12 v olt fuse . 5 Connect the orange lead t o a constan t 12v fuse (ie: cigarette lighter or direct to battery) 6 Connect the black lead to the negativ e side of the autom obile. This is usually the chassis.
4 T urning on T ur n volume con trol clock wise to turn pow er on and set the desired listening v olume. CB Ant enna Only a properly mat ched antenna syst em will allow maximum power output. In mobile installations (cars , trucks, boats , etc.), an antenna sys tem that is non-directional should b e used .
5 Microphone C onnector Allow s for c on venien t remov al of the microphone plug when storage is requir ed . T he microphone MUST be connected to the unit at all times when in use , for proper opera tion. S quelch This con trol is used to cut off or elimina te rec eiver background noise in the absence of an inc oming signal.

7 3. T o achiev e the Desired Squelch Setting (DSS), turn the Squelch control counter clock wise until you hear noise . Now turn the con trol clockwise just until the noise st ops.
Channel Selection 8 Set CB or WX Mode Set on CB mode. Rotate channel knob clock wise until desired channel is displa yed . Channel 9/Channel 19 P ress CH 9/19 to obtain instant acc ess to emergency channel 9. P ress again f or information CH 19. CB/W eather CB mode is f or normal CB operation.
9 Dual W at ch This f eatures allo ws the user to scan betw een two selected channels. 1. Selec t first channel, CB mode. 2. P ress and hold DW until LED begins flashing and beeps once . 3. Selec t second channel. P re ss DW unt il L ED l igh ts steady and radio beeps twice .
10 The SoundT racker System reduc es noise while leaving the signal in tac t in the rec eption mode. In the transmission mode , it strengthens the sig- nal, providing y ou with a significant reduction in noise on reception and tr ansmission.
11 Activ ating Soundtrack er 1. P ress the SoundT racker button on the upper left side of front panel. A red indicator will illuminate when the SoundT racker system is engaged .
12 S/RF P ower Meter Shows relativ e transmitter RF output power and input signal st rength when receiving . T he LED (Light Emitting Diode) segments glow green to amber to red ...this indicates receive or tr ansmit ac tivity . RX/T X Indicator LED RX indicator will li ght when in the receiv e mode.
13 Rear P anel Ant enna C onnec tor . This female connector per- mits connection of the transmission line cable male connector to the transc eiver . External Speaker . The External Speaker Jack is used for an e x ternal speaker . The external speak- er should hav e 8-ohm impedance and be rated to handle at least 4.
14 Ignition Noise Inter f erence Use of a mobile rec eiver at low signal lev els is nor- mally limited by the pr esence of electrical noise. Under most operatin g conditions , when signal lev el is adequate , the background noise does not present a serious pr oblem.
15 Opera ting Proc edure to Rec eive 1. Be sure that pow er cord , antenna and microphone ar e connected to the pr oper connectors befor e proceeding further . The w eather switch should be in the "CB" position. 2. T ur n the radio ON b y rotating the VOL UME C ONTROL clock wise.
