Your 4-button/12-channel remote control s The 4-button/12-channel remote controls are ultra-sophisticated miniature radio transmitters powered by a tiny 12-volt battery. A weak remote control battery wil l reduce range (see page 18 for battery replacement instructions).
What each button/channel does Your Concept 50x remote controls come preprogrammed so that certain channel s command certain functions. The following chart indicates what each remote contro l channel number does, and how to transmit each channel number.
TO RE MOTELY TURN ON A TIME D AC CES SOR Y ...... . Button 2 (channel 2) controls an electronic interlock that lets yo u separately command two functions with the same channel: one when the system is armed, another when disarmed.
How to interpret the chirps and indicator light flashes When you use the remote, the system responds with chirps and indicator light flashes : Chirps and flashes Meanin g 1 Your system is disarmed 2 Y.
Ul traSe cure Coded Valet Mod e Your se cret valet cod e NOTE: If you tem po rar ily lose the use of your re mote con trols, you can dis arm the sys tem by ena bling valet mode . All car alarms have a valet mode that turns off the security features. This mode is also used to turn off the alarm if it is not responding to the remote.
To en able valet mod e 1 . Turn the ignition switch to its “ON” position or start the engine. 2 . Enter your valet code on the PlainView switch, then return the switch to its centre position. 3 . You now have 5 seconds to press the latched position to enter valet mode.
Keyless entry in valet mod e Even if valet mode is enabled, you can still remotely control the convenience features . For instance, press button 1 (channel 1) as if you were disarming: the doors will unloc k (confirmed by one indicator light flash) and the interior lights will turn on.
Built-In Two-Point AutoImmobiliser Thirty seconds after you turn off the ignition, the system’s built-in two-point AutoImmobiliser electronically disengages your vehicle’s starter motor an d electronic fuel pump to ensure against theft of your vehicle.
Smart AutoTestin g Each time you remotely arm the system, it tests all triggers and sensors. If the bonnet or boot is open, the system will immediatel y alert you wit h 4 chirps and 4 indicato r light flashe s instead of the usual 2 and 2.
SmartPowerUp II If power is removed, SmartPowerUp II ensures the system will automatically restore itself to its previous state when power is restored.
User- selectable fea ture s Your Concept 50x allows you to set many of its features to your own personal preferences via a few flicks of the PlainView switch.
EX AM PLE 1 : Turn on AutoArm & Loc k When the system AutoArms (see page 9), it does not normally lock the doors to ensure that you cannot accidentally lock the keys inside the vehicle. To enable this feature , you’ll note that “AutoArm & Lock” is in column 3, row 2 of the table on pages 19-20.
Notice that yo u did not have to reselect column 2. If you don’t touch the switch, the system stays in the column for 10 seconds to allow you to select any other feature(s) in the same column without having to re-enter the column number. Of course, yo u may also toggle the latched side to select a new column.
