2 – ENGLISH PRIOR T O USE Congr atulations on your purchase of the A1600E phone from ClearSounds Communications®. P lease r ead this User Manual carefull y in or der to get the best use out of your new phone. This phone is designed f or individuals with mild to severe hearing loss.

6 – ENGLISH Base Desk/T able Mounting 1. P lug the AC power adapter into the jack on the back of the base, then plug the AC adapter into a standar d elec trical outlet or sur ge protec tor . Note : The adapter is requir ed for the phone to work. Installing Batteries Three AAA re-chargeable Ni-MH batteries come with your phone.
7 – ENGLISH Charging the Handset 1. P lace the handset into the base. The L CD screen will light up and you will hear a beep to indicate charging has begun. 2. Impor tant: Befor e initial oper ation, you should fully charge the handset f or at least 1 5 hours.
8 – ENGLISH Screen Navigation If you press under the word Back on the screen from any menu, the phone returns to the pr evious screen. T o return to the main screen at any time, press . The phone will automatically return to the main screen from any menu if no key is pr essed for 30 seconds.
9 – ENGLISH █ Registering the Handset Up to 4 additional A1600E handsets can be r egistered to the base. 1. Bef ore registering an additional handset to the base, you should press and hold the page key , which is located on the main base, for about 5 seconds and then r elease it .
10 – ENGLISH █ T urning the Handset “P ower On/Off” Mode The A1600E handset can be turned to “Power Off” mode, which can be a convenient way to prevent the phone from ringing without having to change the ringer setting.
11 – ENGLISH █ Handset Name This feature allows you to give each register ed handset a name in order to easily recognize each handset if you have more than one register ed to the base. T o set the handset name: 1. P ress under the wor d Menu on the screen to display the main menu list .
12 – ENGLISH If successful, the handset settings will be reset to the initial f ac tory settings, other wise the settings will r emain. After resetting, the handset will r eturn to standby mode. █ Base Selec tion This func tion allows you to selec t a base from those already register ed to the handset .
13 – ENGLISH TROUBLESHOOTING No dial tone 1. Check that all phone cord connec tions and AC adapter are securel y plugged into the phone, wall jack and elec tric outlet of the main base. 2. Check that the AC adapter is securely plugged into the A1600E base and elec tric outlet .
