5 standard configuration Button The lock and panic functions are contr olled by pressing on the remote for one second. Button The unlock function is controlled by pr essing on the remote for one second. Button Silent Lock/Unlock and an optional auxiliary function are contr olled by this button in conjunction with the or button.
6 using your system warning! safety first The following safety warnings must be observed at all times: z Due to the complexity of this system, installation of this product must only be performed by an authorized dealer . z When properly installed, this system can start the vehicle via a com- mand signal from the r emote.
7 gear . This testing should be performed by an authorized dealer in accor- dance with the Safety Check outlined in the product installation guide. If the vehicle starts in gear , cease remote engine start operation imme- diately and consult with the authorized dealer to fix the problem.
8 locking Pressing for one second locks the doors (if the door locks are con- nected) and activates the starter kill. The horn will honk (if connected) and the parking lights will flash once to confirm arming of the system. While the system is locked, the status LED will flash once per second.
9 unlocking Pressing for one second unlocks the doors (if connected). The horn will honk twice (if connected) and the parking lights will flash twice to confirm unlocking of the system. The optional Starter Kill will be deac- tivated. The status LED will turn off, unless the system is programmed for Passive Mode.
10 override mode Y ou can prevent your system from automatically activating the Starter Kill and locking the doors by using override mode. This is very useful when washing the vehicle or having it serviced.
11 remote engine start This feature allows you to r emotely start and run your vehicle for a pro- grammable period of time. This makes it possible to warm up the engine, as well as adjust the interior temperature of the vehicle with the climate control system.
12 When you are r eady to drive the vehicle: 1. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the RUN (not the ST ART) po- sition. 2. Press the brake pedal. N N o o t t e e : : If the brake pedal is pressed before the key is in the ON posi- tion, the engine will shut down.
13 take-over mode The Override take-over feature allows the vehicle to r emain running after the key has been removed fr om the ignition. This feature is use- ful for occasions when you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time, but would like to leave the motor running and the cli- mate controls on.

The system will start every 3 hours until canceled by the brake, hood, or neutral safety shut-down wires. starter anti-grind circuity Whenever the vehicle is remote engine started, advanced anti-grind cir- cuitry prevents the starter fr om engaging, even if the key is turned to the start position.
16 power -up This system will store its curr ent state to non-volatile memory . If power is lost and then reconnected the system will r ecall the stored state fr om memory .
z Ignition switch-controlled door -locking on or off. With this feature on, the doors will lock 3 seconds after the ignition key is turned on, and unlock when the ignition key is turned off. z Passive Locking or Active Locking (doors lock only with the remote).
18 glossary of terms Control Unit: The “brain” of your system. Usually hidden underneath the dash area of the vehicle. It houses the micr oprocessor which mon- itors your vehicle and controls all system functions.
19 convenience expansions Listed below are some of the many expansion options available for use with your system. Some options may requir e additional parts and/or labor . Please consult with your dealer for a complete list of options available for use with this system.
20 Power Window Control: Power window contr ol can be provided by one of two systems. The firsts system provides contr ol that will roll up two windows automatically when the system is armed, or roll two win- dows down by using the remote. The second system will r oll two win- dows both up and down.
