W ater arising from condensation in the air conditioning drains away through a hole provided for this pur- pose. A pool of water may thus form under the vehicle when stationary .

53 III COMFOR T ADDITIONAL AIR CONDITIONING Additional air conditioning allows you to optimise comfort levels in warm weather conditions. It produces ad- ditional fresh air which is supplied using the rear air vents. The supply of warm air via the rear air vents is not possible using this system.
55 III COMFOR T SCENTED AIR FRESHENER The scented air freshener releases a fragrance into the passenger com- partment via the central air vents. Rotate the button A to adjust (to the left to reduce, to the right to increase) or stop (maximum to the left) the fl ow of scented air .
56 III COMFOR T The recharge for the air freshener consists of a cartridge B and its sealed container C . Remove the protective fi lm D . Place the head of the cartridge B o n the button A of the air freshener . Rotate it a quarter turn to lock it on the button and remove the container .

61 III COMFOR T SECOND ROW SEA TS (C4 PICASSO) Folding the seat Each seat can be folded onto the fl oor to enable you to modify your vehicle’s interior space. Pull fi rmly upwards on strap C , as indicated by the red arrow , to unlock the seat; keep pulling un- til the seat is fully folded.
60 III COMFOR T REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS The rear head restraints can be removed and have two positions; - high, position for use, - low , storage position. T o raise a head restraint, pull it upwards. T o lower it, press the lug then the head restraint. T o remove it, place it in the high position, push the lug and pull it upwards.
62 III COMFOR T SECOND ROW SEA TS (GRAND C4 PICASSO) Each seat can be folded onto the fl oor to form a fl at surface, thus en- abling you to modify your vehicle’ s interior space.
63 III COMFOR T "Cinema seat" position This position allows you to free up space between the fi rst row and the second row . Pull the control E under the seat. This position is only possible with the lateral seats. Access to the third row seats The third-row seats can be accessed via the lateral second-row seats.
64 III COMFOR T THIRD ROW SEA TS (GRAND C4 PICASSO) Concertina boards T wo rigid concertina boards, which cannot be separated from the ve- hicle, cover the 2 third-row seats, when these are in the folded position. 66 III COMFOR T MIRRORS Exterior mirrors Each mirror is adjustable to provide the rear view needed for overtaking or parking. They can also be folded for parking in confi ned spaces.
67 III COMFOR T Interior mirror Adjustable mirror providing a central rearward view . Manual model The mirror is fi tted with a night-time anti-dazzle device. Adjustment Adjust the mirror so that the glass is directed correctly in the "day" position.
68 IV ACCESS REMOTE CONTROL KEY System which permits central un- locking or locking of the vehicle us- ing the lock or remotely . It is also used to locate the vehicle, activate the guide-me-home lighting and start the engine, as well as providing protection against theft.
69 IV ACCESS Normal locking using the key T urn the key to the right in the driver's door lock to lock the ve- hicle completely . Locking is confi rmed by fi xed lighting of the direction indicators for approxi- mately two seconds. According to version, the exterior mirrors fold at the same time.
70 IV ACCESS Deadlocking using the key Turn the key to the right in the driver's door lock to lock the ve- hicle completely and hold it in this position for more than two sec- onds to close the windows auto- matically in addition to locking. T urn the key to the right again within fi ve seconds to deadlock the vehicle.
71 IV ACCESS S T A R T I N G 1. "S": Steering lock T o unlock the steering, gently move the steering wheel while turning the key , without forcing it. 2. "M": Drive position Depending on the version of your vehicle, the orange and red warning lamps should also come on for a short time.
72 IV ACCESS Remote control problem Following disconnection of the ve- hicle battery , replacement of the re- mote control battery or in the event of a remote control malfunction, you can no longer unlock, lock or locate your vehicle. First of all, use the key in the lock to unlock or lock your vehicle.
73 IV ACCESS Lost keys Visit a CITROËN dealer with the vehicle's V5 registration document and your personal identifi cation documents. The CITROËN dealer will be able to retrieve the key code and the trans- ponder code required to order a replacement key .
70 IV ACCESS Deadlocking using the key Turn the key to the right in the driver's door lock to lock the ve- hicle completely and hold it in this position for more than two sec- onds to close the windows auto- matically in addition to locking. T urn the key to the right again within fi ve seconds to deadlock the vehicle.

First of all, use the key in the lock to unlock or lock your vehicle.
74 IV ACCESS A L A R M System which protects and provides a deterrent against the theft of your vehicle. It provides two types of pro- tection, exterior and interior , as well as an anti-tamper function. Exterior protection The system detects opening of the vehicle.
75 IV ACCESS T riggering This is indicated by sounding of the siren and fl ashing of the direction indicators for approximately thirty seconds. After it has been triggered, the alarm is again operational. If the alarm is triggered ten times in succession, the eleventh time will result in it becoming inactive.
76 IV ACCESS ELECTRIC WINDOWS System intended to open or close a window manually or automatically . Fitted with a safety anti-pinch sys- tem and a system for deactivation in the event of misuse of the rear controls. 1. Driver's electric window control.
77 IV ACCESS Reinitialisation If a window does not rise automatically , its operation must be reinitialised: pull the control until the window stops, release the control and pull it again unti.
78 IV ACCESS D O O R S Opening From outside When the selective unlocking is activated, the fi rst press of the remote control unlocking button permits unlocking of the driver's door only . Pull on the front door control to open the door; this unlocks the vehicle completely .
79 IV ACCESS Unlocking Press button A again to unlock the vehicle. The red indicator lamp on the button switches off. If the vehicle is locked or dead- locked from the outside, the red in- dicator lamp fl ashes and button A is inactive. In this case, use the remote control or the key to unlock the vehicle.
80 IV ACCESS B O O T After unlocking the vehicle com- pletely using the remote control or the key , with the rear screen closed, pull on the handle 1 and raise the tailgate. Lower the tailgate using one of the two handholds 3 , located on the interior boot trim.
81 IV ACCESS Emergency boot lid release System for mechanical unlocking of the boot in the event of a battery or central locking malfunction. Unlocking Fold back the rear seats to gain access to the lock from inside the boot. Insert a small screwdriver into hole A of the lock to unlock the tailgate.
80 IV ACCESS B O O T After unlocking the vehicle com- pletely using the remote control or the key , with the rear screen closed, pull on the handle 1 and raise the tailgate. Lower the tailgate using one of the two handholds 3 , located on the interior boot trim.
81 IV ACCESS Emergency boot lid release System for mechanical unlocking of the boot in the event of a battery or central locking malfunction. Unlocking Fold back the rear seats to gain access to the lock from inside the boot. Insert a small screwdriver into hole A of the lock to unlock the tailgate.
82 IV ACCESS F U E L T A N K Capacity of the tank: approxi- mately 60 litres. Low fuel level When the minimum level in the tank is reached, this warning lamp on the instrument panel comes on, accompanied by an audible warning and a message on the multifunction screen.
83 IV ACCESS UNLEADED PETROL After switching off the ignition, the control A is active for only a few minutes. If necessary , switch on the ignition again to reactivate it. If you have put in fuel that is wrong for your vehicle, it is es- sential to have the tank drained before you start the engine.
