65 EN 2 General Informa tion 2.1 Technology i PROTECT C. is an Uninterruptible P ower Supply (UPS) for e ssential loa ds such as PCs, works tations, servers, net work com ponents, telecomm unication equipm ent and sim ilar de vices.
66 View of the PRO TECT C. components 2.2 System Description The UPS is connected between the public utility's m ains and the loads to be pro tected. The power section of the rectif ier converts the mains voltage to DC voltage for supplying the inverter.
67 EN voltage system on the protected busbar is of the highest quality and avai lability. In the event of m ains faults (e.g. current failur es), the voltage continues to be supplied f rom the inverter to the load without any interrupt ion. From this point on wards, th e inver ter dr aws its power from the batter y instead of the invert er.
