Chapter 3 Maintenance and troubleshooting T ips for trouble-free performance Y our SMART Boa rd interactive whiteboard is dura ble, but take care to pr event any damage to it and it s p arts. • Replace the pen when the nib wears out. • Don’t touch the interactive surface with sharp or pointed objects.

IMPORT ANT • Before you clean your interactive whiteb oar d, disconnect its USB cable. • T o view dirt or streaks more easily , se t your projector to standby (lamp of f) mode.

12 | MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING The projected image is blurry , too large or doesn’t completely fill your interactive whiteboar d’s screen. Y our projector’s position, zoom and focus settings aren’t adjusted. Adjust the projector’s position, zoom and focus settings.
13 | MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING The interactive surface doesn’t respond wh en you touch it, the point er moves erratically or gap s appear when you draw or write. Y our interactiv e whiteboa rd isn’t oriented. Orient your interactive whiteboard.
14 | MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING There is a small red × on the SMART Board icon . SMART Product Drivers is unable to detect your interactive whiteboard. Ensure that the USB cable is connected fro m you r computer to your interactive w hiteboard and that the cable isn’t over- extended.
15 | MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING T ransporting your interactive whiteboard Save your original SMART Board interactive whiteboard p ackaging so that it’s available if you need to transport your interactive whitebo ar d. When required, repack your interactive whiteboard with all of the original pack aging.
