Operating Instructions 5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Safety Instructions The safety aspects of AEG electrical appliances comply with accepted technical standards and the German Appliance Safety Law.
Operating Instructions 6 • Never place the dishwasher in ope ration if the mains cable, water inlet or drain hose is damaged; or the control panel, work top or plinth area is damaged such that the inside of the appliance is freely accessible.

Operating Instructions 9 Control panel Water softener and function button: In addition to the wash pro- gramme marked, it is also possible to adjust the dishwasher's water sof- tener using a combination of these buttons. The 3 lights of the multi-display can display: – the current stage of the selected wash programme.
Operating Instructions 10 Prior to using for the first time Prior to using for the first time, remo v e all the clips with which the dish racks are secured for transport. Then perform the following steps: 0 1. Adjust the water softener 2. Fill with Salt for the Water Softener 3.
Operating Instructions 11 1 It is only possible to adjust the water hardness setting when a pro- gramme is not running. If you have inadvertently started a programme (an LED indicator is constantly illuminated), then the programme must be cancelled by pressing the appropriate button.
Operating Instructions 12 Filling with Salt fo r the Water Softener 1 Use only salt designed for dishwash ers. Never fill the salt container with any another type of salt (e.g . culinary salt) or dishwasher deter- gent as this would irreparably damage the water softener.
Operating Instructions 13 Filling with Rinse Aid Rinse aid is automatically added duri ng the last rinse, ensuring thor- ough rinsing, spot and streak free drying. 1 Only use rinse aid specifically designed for domestic dishwashe rs. Never fill the rinse aid container with any other substance as this would dam- age the appliance.
Operating Instructions 14 Adjusting Rinse Aid Dosing 3 As the dishes are washed rinse aid is released from the disp enser into the wash water. The dose is factory set at 4, and can be adjusted from 1 to 6. Only change the setting if streaks, milky spots or dried on water marks are visible on glasses or crockery.
Operating Instructions 15 In Daily Use • Check the salt and rinse aid leve ls. • Load cutlery and dishes into the dishwasher • Fill with dishwasher detergent • Select a wash programme suitable.
Operating Instructions 16 – To avoid damage to glasses, they must not touch – Do not lay small objects (e.g. lids) in the cutlery rack Loading Cutlery 1 Long bladed knives stored in an upright position are a potential haz- ard. 1 Long and/or sharp items of cutlery such as carving knives must be posi- tioned horizontally in the upper bas- ket.

Operating Instructions 18 Loading Cups, Glasses and Coffee Services Load small, delicate items and long pointed cutlery in the upper rack. • Arrange items of crockery on the folding cups racks so that they are offset from each other and water can reach all items.
Operating Instructions 19 Filling with Detergent 1 Only use dishwasher detergent. Fill with detergent: – Prior to the start of a wash programme (not for the pre wash pro- gramme).
Operating Instructions 20 Bio Wash Programmes and Co ncentrated Detergents Based on their chemical compositio n, dishwasher detergents can be split into two basic types: – Conventional, alkaline de tergents with caustic components – Weak alkaline concentrate d dete rgents with natural enzymes.
Operating Instructions 21 Selecting the Wash Progr amme (Programme Table) Choose the most suitable wash program me with the aid of this table: 1) The noise level varies dur ing different stages of the wash programme as at some stages the dishes are washed more energ etically for a shor t period for better cle aning.

If the pause function is initiated during the drying section of the programme I the wash programme is ended. Using the pause function the dish washer can be temporarily stopped: 0 1.
Operating Instructions 24 Care and Cleaning 1 Do not under any circumstances use fu rniture care products or aggres- sive cleaners. • If necessary, clean the controls only with a soft cloth and pure warm water. • O ccasionally check the internal cont ainers, door seal, and water inlet for soiling, clean if necessary.
Operating Instructions 25 7. Put the flat filter back in the base of the washing compartment 8. Place the coarse/fine filter in the microfilter and press together. 9. Put the filter combination in place and lock by turning the handle clock- wise to the stop.

If you call an engineer to resolve a of fault listed here, or to repair a fault caused by incorrect use or installation, a charge will be made even if the appliance is in guarantee.

Installation and Connectio n Instructions 34 Water drain Drain hose 1 The drain hose must not be kinked, crushed or entangled. • Connecting the drain hose : – Maximum permitted height: 1 metre. – Minimum required height 40 cm above the lower edge of the machine.
Installation and Connection Instru ctions 35 Leak Prevention System For protection from damage due to water leaks, the dishwasher is equipped with a leak prevention system, the AQUA CONTROL SYSTEM. In the event of a fault, the safety valve immediately interrupts the sup- ply of water to the appliance and th e drain pump switches on.
