EN-CAHDD2B-D 1 Thank you for purchasing the Cavalry dual-bay USB 2.0 RAID dock. The EN-CAHDD2B-D was designed for ultimate exibility . The multiple RAID settings allow users to have several discrete RAID arrays, using multiple disks, and still retain the ability to setup and test new drives on-the-y .

EN-CAHDD2B-D 3 In W indows, they call it “Disk Management”. In Mac, they call it “Disk Utility”. Despite having dif ferent names and appearances, both W indows Disk Management and Mac Disk Utility do basically the same thing: they allow you to create, modify and delete any storage volume connected to your computer .
EN-CAHDD2B-D 4 Connect the Cavalry power supply .* Connect the USB cable to a port on your computer that you have used recently and know to work well. T ake this time to temporarily eject and disconnect any other external storage devices you have. This will make it easier to nd your new Cavalry dock.
EN-CAHDD2B-D 5 Power the dock off. Both disks should still be in the dock from your JBOD test. Set switches to RAID 1 mode shown in the image on the right. Power-on the dock. Check for 1 unallocated disk in your disk management utility . Now you are ready to partition and format that disk.
EN-CAHDD2B-D 6 ! Only blank or unallocated disks can be used to setup a RAID 0 array! Power the dock off. Both disks should still be in the dock from your JBOD test.
EN-CAHDD2B-D 7 Windows: Navigate to Disk Management: Start Menu>right-click (My) Computer>select “Manage”>select Disk Management. Once in Disk Management, look for your drives in the bottom-right window . Y ou may have to scroll down to nd it.
