11 TEA INSIGHTS 11 T ea types Based on the processing, w e can distinguish four basic types of the Chinese tea plant (lat. camellia si- nensis). Collection and the method of fermentation (oxidation of polyphenols which leads to chemical changes in the tea leaves and causes them to darken) determine the type of the tea nally produced.

13 13 BEFORE FIRST USE BEFORE FIRST USE Preparing the T ea Maker for Use In order to remov e any dust or protective resi- dues from the manufacturing process, it is r e - commended to run a boiling cycle then discard the water . Repeat this step 2 - 3 times if needed.
14 OPERA TING YOUR TEA MAKER TM 8010 Use as a T ea Maker for Brewing T ea 1. Remove the Glass Jug from the P ower Base and remove Jug Lid . When br ewing tea, fill with desired amount of water . Ensure you do not fill past the tea maximum mark (1200 ml TEA MAX).
15 15 OPERA TING YOUR TEA MAKER TM 8010 Selecting the T ea Type The tea type determines brew temperatur e. The T ea Maker has 5 preset tea types recom- mended for optimal brewing of Gr een, Black, White, Herbal or Oolong T ea.
16 OPERA TING YOUR TEA MAKER TM 8010 NOTE: The ‚BREW TIME‘ can be adjusted during the heating process but ‚BRE W TEMP‘ cannot be changed once the heating cycle commences. T o change the brew time press the right ARROW UP button to increase the time, or the right ARROW DOWN button to decrease the time .
17 17 OPERA TING YOUR TEA MAKER TM 8010 NOTE: ‚Keep Warm‘ will only maintain tempe- rature during the 60 minute ‚ Time Since Brew‘ feature at the end of the ‘ T ea’ or ‘Hot W ater ’ function. 2. Once the tea brewing or water heating cycle is complete, the L CD screen will automati- cally display the ‚ Time Since Brew‘ count- up.
18 OPERA TING YOUR TEA MAKER TM 8010 2. During the brewing cycle, the BASKET but- ton surround will ash while the Basket slowly lifts and lowers within the heated wa- ter . 3. The ‘Basket Cycle’ feature can be cancelled anytime during the tea brewing cycle .
19 19 OPERA TING YOUR TEA MAKER TM 8010 5. Once the selected temperature is reached, the tea alert will sound three times. The L CD screen will automatically display the ‘ Time Since Brew’ function. This function counts up to a maximum of 60 minutes, allowing you to monitor when the water heating cycle was complete.

21 21 ADDITIONAL FEA TURES OF Y OUR TEA M AKER TM 8010 Customising Br ew T emperature In addition to the 5 preset brew temperatures of your Automatic T ea M aker TM 8010 (see Page 15, Selecting the T ea T ype), the T ea Maker also fea- tures a customisable brew temperature setting for other tea varieties or to suit y our personal taste.
22 ADDITIONAL FEA TURES OF Y OUR TEA M AKER TM 8010 - Once the brewing is complete, the L CD screen will automatically display the ‘ Time Since Brew’ function. T his func- tion counts up to a maximum of 60 min- utes, allowing y ou to monitor the fresh- ness of your brew .
23 23 ADDITIONAL FEA TURES OF Y OUR TEA M AKER TM 8010 8. Once the selected ST ART TIME is reached , the T ea Maker will automatically commence the tea brewing or water heating cycle. During this time, the A UTO ST AR T button surround will no longer illuminate until the cycle is complete.

25 25 25 25 CARE AND CLEANING CARE AND CLEANING Ensure the T ea Maker is turned OFF by pressing the TEA|Cancel button (when brewing tea) or the HOT W A TER|Cancel button (when heating water) on the Po wer Base. The T ea Maker is OFF when the button surround illumination goes out.
26 CARE AND CLEANING W ARNING: NEVER IMMERSE OR W ASH EXTERIOR OF GLASS JUG UNDER RUNNING W A TER. NOTE: Do not use chemicals, steel wool , or abra- sive cleaners to clean the inside or outside of the Glass Jug as these may scratch the surface.
27 27 CARE AND CLEANING Cleaning the T ea Basket Lid, T ea Basket and T ea Scoop 1. Wash the T ea Basket Lid, T ea Basket and T ea Scoop in warm soapy water with a soft sponge, rinse and dry thoroughly . A non- abrasive liquid cleanser or mild spray solu- tion may be used to av oid build-up of stains.
