4 About this manual... This manual e xplains functi on and operations when any one of the f ollowing devices is connected to the USB por t of the CASIO XJ-SC2 15/XJ-S37/XJ-S47/XJ-S57 Data Projector .
5 About the Data Pr ojector’ s USB Functions The USB por t that is built into the Data Projector lets you connect an external USB device and use it as an input source f or image projection.
6 Wireless Adapter (CASIO YW -2) Establishing a connection between the Data Pr ojector and a computer over a wireless LAN makes it possib le to project the displa y contents of the computer’ s screen from the Data Projector . Y ou can hav e up to four computers connected to the Data Projector over a wireless LAN at the same time.
7 Document Camera (CASIO YC-400/YC-430) Y ou can connect a CASIO Document Camera to the Data Projector’ s USB por t and project the images of documents placed on the document stage of the YC-400/YC-430. For more inf ormation, see “P erforming a Presentation Using the YC-400/YC-430 Document Camera” on page 47.
8 Connecting a USB Device to the Data Pr ojector What happens when you connect a USB device to the Data Projector depends on the current configuration of the Data Projector’ s plug-and-play setting. Plug-and-pla y is enabled under the Data Projector’ s initial default setti ngs.
9 Connecting to a USB Device while the Data Pr ojector is On If you connect a USB de vice to the Data Projec tor’ s USB por t while it is turned on, it will perform one of the f ollowing operations (de pending on its current plug-and-play setting).
10 Installing Data Pr ojector Software Use the procedures in this section to inst all the software that comes bundled with the Data Projector onto your computer . Minimum System Requirements The follo wing describes minimum co mputer system requirements to run t he bundled software.
11 T o install software 1 Place the bundled CD-ROM into your computer’ s CD-ROM drive. z This d ispla ys the dia log bo x sho wn belo w . 2 Select the check bo x of the software you want to install. 3 Click the [Install] button. z This will start installation.

13 Projecting Presentation Ima ges from a USB Memory Device or Memory Card This section explains ho w to perf or m the f ollowing operations . z How to use the bundled EZ-Conv er ter PRO and EZ-Conv er ter 1.
14 The data types listed below can be pla yed bac k using the Data Projector’ s Viewer . Image Files Play back is supported JPEG (jpg, jpeg, jpe; e xcluding progressiv e f ormat ) f ormat or BMP (bmp) format image files up to 6 Mb ytes in size. Movie Files Play back is supported f or the f ollowing movie file f or mats.

17 Tip: Con ver tible docu ment types The aspect ratio (horizontal:v er tical) of the im age projected by the Data Projector is 4:3. Because of this use of a page aspect ratio setti ng that comes as close to this as possible is recommended.
18 Using EZ-Con ver ter PRO Launcher EZ-Conv er ter PRO Launcher lets y ou use drag and drop to conv er t a document to an image file and to access do cument conv ersion help . T o use EZ-Con ver ter PRO Launcher 1 On your computer’ s Windows Start menu, selec t [All Programs] - [CASIO] - [EZ- Con verte r PR O].
19 Using EZ-Con ver ter 1.1 EZ-Conv er ter 1.1 is software that lets you register images on y our computer as presentation data, rearrange the projecti on sequence of the images that make up a presentation, select image transition effects , and more. It also can be used to convert a P ow erP oint file to presentation data.
20 T o create presentation data 1 On your computer’ s Windows Start menu, select [All Programs] - [CASIO] - [EZ- Con verte r]. z This will dis play EZ-Conv er ter 1.1 window . 2 Select [T ools] - [Option s]. z This will d ispla y the Options d ialog bo x.

22 T o configure presentation data playbac k settings 1 On the EZ-Con verter 1.1 window, displa y the presentation data whose playback settings you want to configure . z F or details abou t how to do this, se e “T o create pres entation data ” (page 20) and “T o open a presen tation file ” (page 23).
23 T o open a pr esentation file 1 Either click the button or select [File] - [Open Presentation File]. z This displays the Ope n Presentation F ile dialog box. 2 Select the presentation (plf) file you want to open and then c lick [Open]. z This will op en the selected presentation fi le and display in the EZ- Conv er ter 1.
24 T o save edited presentation data Either click the button or select [File] - [Sa ve Presentation File]. This saves the edited presentation data by replacing the original data. T o save edited presentation data as a ne w file 1 Either clic k the [Save] button or select [File] - [Sa ve Presentation File As].
25 Option Settin gs Selecting [T ools] - [Options] on the EZ-Conv ert e r 1.1 window will displa y an Options dialog box, which y ou can use to configure the se ttings of v arious operations. Ref e r to the sections of this manual shown below f or details about the settings you can configure on the Options dialog box.

27 Viewer is a Data Projector built-in applicat ion f or pla ying back image and movie files that are stored on a memor y device that is curre ntly loaded via the Data Projector’s USB port (USB memor y de vice, memory card loaded in a USB card reader , etc.
28 Connecting a USB Card Reader to the Data Pr ojector 1 T urn on the Data Projector . z W ait until the Data Projector’ s POWER/ST ANDBY indicator is lit green. 2 Connect the USB card reader to the Data Projector USB port. 3 Load the memo ry card that contains the data you want to project with Viewer into the card slot of the USB car d reader .
29 Drive Menu Operations If the USB memory device or memory card has multiple dr iv es, a menu of driv es will appear when Viewer star ts up. There are two di ff erent views f or the drive menu: an icon view and a tree view .
30 File Menu Operations There are two diff erent views f or the file menu: a thumbnail view and a tree view . Thumbnail View This view sho ws thumbnails of the image files and movie files contained on the USB memor y de vice or memor y card. Folders are shown as icons .
31 T o switc h between the thum bnail view an d the tree view 1 Press the [FUNC] key . z This displays the Vi ew er functi on menu shown below . 2 Use the [ T ] key to move the highlighting to “Screen Format” and then press the [ENTER ] key . z This toggle s between the thumb nail view and the tr ee view .
32 T o select a file or a folder Thumbnail View Use the cursor keys to mov e the highlighting to the file or folder y ou want to select. T ree View Use the [ S ] and [ T ] cursor keys to mo ve the highlighting to the file or folder y ou want to select.
33 T o open a f older 1 Use the cursor keys to select the file you want to open. 2 Press the [ENTER] key . z This opens t he selected folder and di splays a menu of its contents. z With the tree view , you c ould also pr ess the [ X ] k ey inst ead of the [ENTER] k ey .
34 Note z A slideshow displa ys the imag e files (jpg or bmp) that are included in the same folder as the image file you select in st ep 1 of the abov e proc edure. All other files are ignored. z F or details about operations you can perform during a slideshow , see “Operations during a Slideshow” ( page 38).
35 Using the Presentation Menu The folder that contains the presentation fi le created using the EZ-Conv er ter 1.1 software ( page 19) that comes bundled with the Data Proj ector is called a “presentation f older”.
36 T o perform a slideshow by running a presentation file 1 Use the [ T ] and [ S ] keys to move the highlighting to the presentation file you want to ru n. 2 Press the [ENTER] key or the [ ] key . z This will start the currently sele cted presentatio n file.
37 Operations during Image Fi le Content Projection T o scroll between image files Use the [ X ] and [ W ] ke ys. Note Scrolling to a file that is too large to fit within the projecti on area will cause the message “Cannot displa y an image file. ” to appear .
38 Operations durin g a Slideshow T o pause a slideshow while auto image change is turned on Press the [ ] ke y . T o unpause a slideshow while a u to image change is turned on Press the [ ] ke y . T o scroll between image files during a slideshow Use the cursor ke ys.
39 Slideshow Start Error The error message shown below ma y appear when you attempt to star t a slideshow using one of the procedures under “T o star t a slideshow from a particular image file” ( .
40 Operations duri ng Movi e File Pla yback Y ou can perform the operations descr ibed below during movie file pla yback. Note Pressing the [FUNC] key during movie pla yback will pause pla yback and displa y the Viewer function menu. Pla yback will resume when y ou press the [ESC] ke y to close the View er function menu.
41 Configuring Viewer Setup Men u Settings Note z When you perf or m a slideshow b y running a presentation file created with EZ- Conv er ter 1.1, the slideshow settings on the Vie wer setup menu (Ima.
42 5 What you should do next depends on wheth er or not [ENTER] is displayed at the far right of the setting you are configuring (the one that is highlighted). If [ENTER] is displa yed: a. Press the [ ENTER] key . b. On the subm enu that appears, use [ T ] and [ S ] to mov e the highl ighting to the se tting you want to select.
43 5 Use the [ S ] key to select “Y es”. 6 T o restore all the settings to their initial defaults, press the [ENTER] key . z T o exit the operatio n without doin g anything, press [E SC] instead of [E NTER]. 7 T o exit the Viewer setup menu, press the [ESC] key .
44 Slideshow Repeat Specifies whether or not slideshows and mo vie file pla ybac k should repeat when the end it reached. On: Slideshows and movie pla ybac k are repeated. Off * : Slideshows and movie pla ybac k are not repe ated. Movie Displa y Specifies the displa y size during movie pla yback.
45 Viewer Err or Messages Message Cause Required Action There is a problem with the slideshow setup file . Cannot start the slideshow . There is some prob lem with the presentati on file created with EZ-Con verter 1.
46 Some folder s and/or files are not displa yed in the file menu • All the f olders and/or fi les co ntained in a folder will not be display ed if there are more than 999 folders and/or files inside the f older. If this happens, reduce the number of folders and/or files in the f older .
47 P erforming a Presentation Using the YC-400/YC-430 Document C amera This section explains ho w to connect the CASIO YC-400/YC-430 Multi PJ Camera System (document camera) to the Data Projector in or der to project the images of documents placed on the document stage of the document camera .
48 T o connect the document camera to the Data Projector and pr oject the image of a do cument 1 T urn on the Data Projector . z W ait until the Data Projector’ s POWER/ST ANDBY indicator is lit green. 2 Connect the document camera to the Data Projector using the USB cable that comes bundled with the docu ment camera.
49 4 Place the document whose image you want to project onto the document camera’ s d ocument stage. z Be sure to pl ace the document in the center o f the stage, and do not l et any par t of the docume nt extend off the edges of the stage.
50 This section explains the v ar ious types of pr ojection operations y ou can perform with the YC Camera application and how to configure YC Camera application settings.
51 T o adjust the document camera’ s zoom setting 1 Press the [FUNC] key to display the YC Camera application function menu. 2 Use the [ T ] key to move the highlighting to “Camera Zoom/Focus” and then press the [ENTER] key . z This causes t he YC Camera Zoom/Focus dialog bo x to appea r in the project ion area.
52 T o adjust the camera position 1 Remove all documents and objects from the document stage . 2 Press the [FUNC] key to display the YC Camera application function menu. 3 Use the [ T ] key to move the highlighting to “Adjust Camera P osition” and then press the [ENTER] key .
53 T o rotate the currently pr ojected image Note This operation will affect only the image that is currently being proj ected. The projection image produced the next time you release the shutter will be projected in accordance with the settings on the YC Camera Application Setup Menu (page 55).
54 T o perform manual ske w correction on the currently projected image Note z Ske w correction automatically straightens t he image of a document that is misalign ed on the document stage of t he document camera. Under its initial defaults, the YC Camera application is configured to perf orm skew correction automatically .
55 Configuring YC Camera App lication Setup Menu Settings Y ou can use the YC Camera setup menu to configure various YC Camera application operation settings. T o configure YC Camera application setup menu settings 1 Press the [MENU] key to display the setup menu.

58 Ske w Correction Specifies whether or not ske w correction sho uld be perf ormed automatically on the project ed image. On * : T ur ns on automatic skew correction.
59 Pr ojecting the Screen Ima g e of a Graphing Calculator Y ou can connect a CASIO graphing calculator to the Data Projector using a USB cable and project the calculator’ s screen image with the Da ta Projector . USB connection of the following CASIO graphing calculators is supported.
60 Important! z If an hourglass figure appears in the image pr ojected from the Data Projector when you connect the calculator , perform some operation on the calculator .
