6 T o Avoid Damaging Y our Appliance • Do not line your oven with alumin ium foil and do not place a baking tr ay or dish on the oven floor , ot herwise the oven enamel will be damaged by the r esulting build up of heat. • Juice from fruit that drips from baking tr ays will leave marks that cannot be r emoved.

10 Befor e Using for the First Time Setting the Time 3 The oven will only function if the time is set. The time display will flash after the appliance has been connected to the mains or following a power fail- ure. 4. Pr ess the M buttons briefly . 5.
11 Initial Cleaning Befor e using the oven for the fir st ti me you should clean it thoroughly . 1 Caution: Do not use any caustic, abr asive cleaner s! The surface could be damaged. 3 T o clean metal fr onts use commercially available cleaning agents.
12 Using the Rings 3 Also r efer to the operating instructions for your built-in hob . It con- tains import ant information on oven war e, operation, cleaning and care. Heat settings • Y ou may select the heat settings within the r ange of settings 1-9.
13 Cooking with the Rings 1. For heating up/browning, select a high heat setting . 2. As soon as steam starts to form or the oil is hot, turn back to the heat setting necessary for further cooking. 3. T o stop cooking, turn back to the zero position. 2 Switch the cooking zone off approx .
14 Using the Oven Switching the Oven On and Off 1. T urn the “oven functions” swit ch to the requir ed function. 2. T urn the “tempera ture selection” switch to the r equired temper ature. The yellow oven power indicator will re main on while the oven is in use.
15 Oven Functions The oven has the following functions: L Oven lighting With this function you can illuminate the oven interior , e.g., for clean- ing. The heating element is not in use. S Pizza & baking For baking cak es on one level and for pastries that need more br own- ing and a crispy base.
16 A Defr ost To begin to thaw and to defrost such items as flan, butter , bread, fruit or other frozen fo ods . For this function the fan operates without heating. F Grill For grilling flat foods placed on the middle of the shelf such as steaks, escalopes or fish, or for toasting .
17 Inserting the Shelf and Universal Baking T ray 3 Anti-tip device All slide-in units have a small bulge on the left and right. This bulg e is an anti-tip device and must always point to the r ear of the oven. T ray or universal baking tr ay: The anti-tip device must point to- wards the r ear of the oven.
18 Inserting/Removing the F at Filter The fat filter protects the r ear wall heating element against splashes of fat when r oasting. Inserting the fat filter Holding the fat filter by the tab , in- sert the two retainers into the opening on the rear wall of the oven (fan opening) from the top downwar ds.
19 W orking with the Electr onic Clock Clock functions: Manual oper ation M Pr essing button M transfer s the oven fr om automatic to manual oper- ation. Countdown C T o set a countdown. A signal so unds after the time ha s elapsed. This function does not affect the functioning of the oven.
20 Function display: AUT O T The "AUT O" sign lights up when an automatic progr am has be en set, and flashes when the pr ogram is completed. 3 Gener al information • Within 5 seconds after setting a cl ock function the requir ed times can be set or changed using the + or - buttons.
21 Countdown C 1. Pr ess countdown button s . 2. Using the + or - buttons, set the re q u i re d t i m e . It is possible to find out how much time remains by pr essing the count- down button again. The time display wil l show the cur- r ent time again a few seconds after countdown has been set.
22 Cook time < 1. Pr ess button < . 2. Using the + or - buttons, set the requir ed cooking time (max. 10 h o u rs . After appr ox. 5 seconds the display r everts to the time. The symbol “ AUTO” indicates tha t the oven has been changed to automatic opera- tion.
23 Cook Time < and End Time > Combined 3 Cook time < and end time > can be used together if the oven is to switch on and off automatically at a later time . 1. Selecting Oven Functions and T em- p e ra t u re . Using the cook time < function set the time r equir ed to cook the food.
24 The symbol “ Auto” is illumi nated and the time is shown in the display . E.g., 12:05 hr s. The oven will switch on auto- matically at the calculated time. E.g., at 13:05 hr s. And it will switch off again after the entered cook time has expir ed.
25 Changing the time 3 The time can only be changed if th ere is no automatic pr ogr amme set (cook time < or end time > ). 1. Pr ess the M buttons briefly . 2. Using the + or - buttons, set the current time. 3. After 5 seconds the clock will show the set time.
26 Meat Pr obe For switching off the oven pr ecisely when a set cor e temperatur e has been r eached. The meat pr obe is a pr actical tool when using conventional, hot air and r otitherm.

28 Mechanical Door Lock When the appliance is delivered, the door lock is deactivated. Activate the door lock Pull the safety catch forwar ds until it locks in place. Open the oven door: 1. Shut the door . 2. Pr ess the safety catch and keep it depr essed.
29 Uses , Tables and Tips Boiling The information given in the followi ng tables is for guidance. The switch setting requir ed for cooking depends on the quality of the pans and the type and quantity of food. Settings for cooking on the rings 1 Overheated fats and oils catch fir e q uickly .
30 Baking Use the pizza & baking S , fan cooking U or conventional O oven function s for ba king. 3 Remove the fat filter when baking , as otherwise the baking time is longer and the surface will br own unevenly . Baking tins • Coated baking tins and tins made of dark metal ar e suitable for conventional O heat.

37 Fr ozen Ready Meals T able 3 When fr ozen foods are used the tr ays inserted may distort d uring cook- ing. This is because of the large di ffer ences in temperatur e be tween the fr ozen item and the oven. Once the trays have cooled the distortion will disappear ag ain.
38 Roasting Use the rotitherm I or co nventional O oven functions for roasting. Ovenware for roasting • Any heat-resistant dish is suitable for r oasting (refer to the manufac- tur er's instructions!). • If the dish has plastic handles, chec k that they ar e heat-resistant (r e- fer to manufactur er' s instructions!).

49 Oven Door The oven door of your appliance may be removed for cleaning. Removing the oven door 1. Open the oven door completely . 2. Completely fold back the brass- coloured clamping lever on both door hinges. 3. Grip the oven door with both hands on the sides and close it to about 3/4 going past the point of resist- ance .
