5 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Electrical Safety • This appliance must be connected by a specially licensed technician only . • In the event of a fault or damage to the appliance: take the fuses out or switch off. • For safety r easons, do not clean the appliance with steam jet or high- pressur e cleaning equipment.
6 How to avoid damage to the appliance • Do not line the oven with alumin ium foil and do not place baking tr ays, pots, etc. on the oven floor , as the heat that builds up will dam- age the oven enamel. • Fruit juices dripping fr om the baking tr ay will leave stains, which you will not be able to r emove.

10 Befor e using for the first time Setting the clock 3 The oven only opera tes when the time has been set. When the appliance is connected to the electrical supply or when there has been a power cut, the arrow for the clock flashes. Set the curr ent time with the or button.
11 Setting the Language 1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the main power button . 2. Pr ess the main power and the clock function buttons at the same time. 3. Using the selector buttons and select one of the languages suggested. 4. Pr ess the main power and the clock function buttons at the same time, to store the selected language.
12 Setting the Display Brightness The brightness of the display can be ad justed, to make it easier to r ead in ovens built-in at higher levels. 1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the main power button . 2. Pr ess the main power and the clock function buttons at the same time.
13 Initial Cleaning Y ou should clean the oven thoroughly before using for the fir st time. 1 Attention: do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning materials. These could damage the oven surface. 3 For ovens with metal fr onts, use no rmal commercially available clean- ing agents.
14 Oper ating the Oven The Electr onic Oven Contr ol 3 Gener al Instructions • Always switch the appliance on fi r st by pressing the main power switch . • When the selected function is lit, th e oven begins to heat up or the time set begins to count down.
15 Oven Functions The oven has the following functions: 3 The functions Conventional (T op/Bottom heat), Pizza setting and Rotitherm have an automatic r apid heating function . This ensur es that the temper ature set is r e ached as quickly as possible.
16 Single Grill Suggested temperatur e: 230 °C. For grilling flat foodstuffs placed in the centr e of the grill, for example, steaks, escalopes, fish, or for toast ing . The grill heating element is on. T op/Bottom Heat (conventional oven) Suggested temperatur e: 200 °C For baking and frying/roasting on one shelf posi tion .
17 Switching the Oven On and Off Switching on th e oven function 1. Switch the appliance on by pres sing the main power switch . 2. Pr ess the Oven Function button as often as necessary , until the de- sir ed oven function is lit. • A suggested temper atur e appears on the temper atur e display .

19 Switching off the oven Switch the appliance off by pr essing the main power switch . 3 Cooling fan When the oven is switched on, the fan comes on automatically to keep the surfaces of the appliance cool. Wh en the oven is switched off, the fan continues to operate to cool th e appliance down, then switches it- self off.
20 Inserting the gener al purpose pan, grill, and tr ay Inserting the general purpose pan and tr ay: The trays have a little bulge on the left and right edges. These are pr o- vided as positioning guides and must always be located towards the r ear when inserting the tray .
21 Steam Cooking Functions 1 Important: The steam cooking functions must always be set in con- junction with the clock function s Cook Time or End Time (see chapter Clock Functions Cook Time and End Time). 1 Important: Only water can be used as liquid.
22 5. Stop the signal and switch off the oven by pressing the main power switch . After the oven has cooled down, soak up any r emaining water fr om the steam generator using a sponge and, if necessary , wipe out with a little vinegar . Leave the door open to let the oven dry completely .
23 Additional Functions Baking and Roasting Pr ogr ammes 3 For this function, use the r ecipes su pplied in the chapter “Usage, T ables and Tips” . Selecting baking and roasting pr ogrammes 1. Pr ess the Progr amme button as often as necessary , until the desired baking/r oasting progr amme appear s.
24 Meat Pr obe Ensures that the oven switches itself off as soon as the temper ature at the centre of a roast r eaches a set temperatur e. The meat pr obe is best used together with the Conve ntional (T op/Bot- tom heating), F an Cooking and Rotitherm functions.
25 3 • The cor e temperatur e is displayed from 30 ° C. • Should the curr ent cor e tempera- tur e already be being displayed, before the desir ed core temper a- tur e is set, press the meat probe button and carry out the setting pr ocess. • To set the oven temperatur e, press the meat pr obe button twice.
26 Clock Functions Countdown T o set a countdown. A signal so unds after the time ha s elapsed. This function does not affect the oper ation of the oven. Cook time T o set how long the oven is to be in use. End time T o set when the oven is to switch off again.
27 Countdown 1. Pr ess the clock function but- ton as often as necessary , until the Countdown arrow flashes. 2. Set the desir ed Countdown time us- ing the or button (max. 99 minutes). After about 5 seconds the display shows the time r emaining. The Countdown arrow lights up.
28 Cooktime 1. T o select the oven function and temper ature. 2. Pr ess the ok o button as often as necessary , until the Cooktime arr ow flashes. 3. Set the desired cooking time with the or button. The Cooktime arr ow lights up.
29 End Time 1. T o select the desired oven function and temper atur e. 2. Pr ess the ok o button as often as necessary , until the End Time arr ow flashes. 3. Set the desir ed switch-off time with the or button. The End Time arr ow lights up.
30 COOK TIME and END TIME combined 3 Cook Time and End Time can be used simultaneously if the oven is to automatically switch on and off at a later time . 1. T o select the desired oven function and temper atur e. 2. Using the COOK TIME function, set the time r equir ed for cooking the dish concerned, for example, 1 hour .
31 Adjusting the time 1. Pr ess the clock function but- ton as often as necessary , until the Time arr ow flashes. 2. Set the curr ent time with the or the button. 3. After about 5 seconds, the arrow stops flashing and the clock displays the time set.
32 Other Functions 3 Between 22:00 and 6:00, the brightness of the display is automatically r educed. Switching off the clock display 2 Y ou can save energy by switching off the clock display . 1. If re quired, switch off the appliance using the main power switch .
33 Child Safety Device As soon as the child safety device is engaged, the oven cannot be switched on. Activating the child safety device 1. If requir ed, switch on the appliance by pressing the main power switch . No Oven Function must be selected. 2.

Select the oven function. 3. Pr ess and hold Progr amme and buttons at the same time for about 2 seconds, until PROGRAMME LOCK appear s in the display .
35 Usage, T ables and Tips Steam Cooking For steam cooking, use either the Vigorous Steam or Interval Steam oven functions. 1 W arning: During steam cooking, do not under any cir cumstances open the oven door .
36 Vigor ous Steam The Vigoro us Steam Cooking method of pr eparation is suitable for all types of food, fresh or fr ozen. It ca n be used for cooking, warming, de- fr osting, poaching or blanching vegetables, meat, fish, pasta, rice, sweet corn, semolina and eggs.
37 Vigor ous Steam and F a n Cooking in succession Vigor ous Steam and Fan Cooking can be combined to cook meat, vege- tables and side-dishes in the oven one after the other and then using Vigor ous Steam with one another , so th at th ey w i ll be rea d y to se r ve a t the same time.
38 Interval Steam Interval Steam cooking is particularly suitable for roasting lar ge joints of meat and defrosting or r e-heati ng portions of food cooked previous- ly . Interval Steam Cooking T able Cooking on mor e than one oven leve l Cut up a whole r oast befor e warming.

56 Bio Functions The low temper atur es that can be set with this oven can be used to make yoghurt or to raise yeast dough. 1 Attention: the suggested temperatur e s h a v e t o b e c h a n g e d w i t h a l l Bio functions! Making Y oghurt For making yoghu rt, use the Conv entional (Top/Bottom heat) oven function.
57 Low T emper atur e Cooking With the Low Temper ature cooking fu nction, meat becomes beautifully tender and r emains particularly succule nt. 2 When roasting with low temper atures, up to 20 per cent less ener gy is needed than with normal r oasting.
58 Making Pr eserves For making preserves, use the Interval Steam oven function. Preserving Jars • For preserving, use only commer cially available preserve jar s of the same size. 3 Jars with twist-off or bayonet type lids and metal tins are not suitable.
59 Pr ogr ammed Functions and Recipes The appliance has 12 progr amme d functions and r ecipes, which can be selected one after the other using the Pr ogramme button. 1. Cleaning Pr ogr amme The cleaning pr ogramme function is described fully in the “Care and Cleaning” chapter Recipes 2.

P otatoes au gr atin Ingr edients: – 1 000 g potatoes, – salt and pepper , 1 teaspoon of each – 1 clove of garlic, peeled – 300 g Greyerz or Emmental cheese, gr ated, – 3 eggs, – 250 ml milk, – 4t a b l e s p o o n s c r e a m , – 1t a b l e s p o o n t h y m e , – 3t a b l e s p o o n s b u t t e r .
61 4. White br ead Ingr edients: – 1 000 g flour , type 405, – 1 cube of fr esh yeast or 2 packets of dried yeast, – 600 ml milk, – 15 g salt. Method: Place the flour and the salt in a la rge bowl. Dissolve the yea st in the milk and add to the f lour .
62 6. Baked fish fillet Ingr edients: – 7 00 g pike-perch filet (or salmon filet or sea tr out filet), – 1 00 g emmental cheese, grated, – 200 ml cream, – 40 g br eadcrumbs, – 40 g butter to grease the dish, – salt, pepper , lemon juice, – par sley , chopped.

Pizza 1 original baking tr ay or 2 r ound baking sheets (dia. 26 cm) Ingr edients for the dough: – 300 g flour , type 405 , – 180 ml water , – 15 g yeast, – 2 tablespoons olive oil, – 1 teaspoon salt. Method for the dough: Dissolve the yeast in the water and with the other ingredients knead to an elastic dough.
64 9. Quiche Lorr aine Ingr edients for the pastry: – 250 g flour , type 405 , – 125 g butter , – 60 ml water , – 1 teaspoon salt, – some pepper and nutmeg. Method: Mix together flour , butter and salt, add the water and knead together briefly .
65 10 . C h i c k e n Ingr edients: – 1 chicken (1 000 - 1200 g), – 2 tablespoons oil, – salt, pepper , paprika, curry powder . Method: W ash the chicken and dry it with kitchen paper . Mix the spices with the oil and use th e mixture to oil the chicken evenly inside and out.
66 Cleaning and car e 1 Wa r n i n g : For safety reasons cleaning the appliance with a steam jet cleaner or high-pressur e water cleaner is not permissible ! Exterior of the Appliance • Wipe the front of the appliance with a soft cloth dipped in warm soapy water .
67 Accessories W ash all slide-in units (shelf unit, baking tray , shelf support rails etc.) after each use and dry well. Soak briefly to make them easier to clean. Gr ease Filter 1. Clean the grease filter in hot water and washing up liquid or in the dishwasher .
68 Side Rails T o clean the sides of the oven, the le ft and right side r ails can be re- moved fr om the oven. T aking out the side r ails 1. Loosen the scr ew . 2. Pull the r ails sidewar ds (1). 3. Lift the ra ils off the rear hook (2). T o remove/r eplace the side rails on the right, open the cover on the meat pr obe socket.
69 Replacing the side r ails 1. Set the r ails in the r ear hook and pr ess against the scr ew hole (1). 2. Insert the scr ew and tighten (2)..
70 Steam Gener ation System 1 Important: Wipe the steam gener ator dry after each use . Soak up wa- ter with a sponge. Remove any lime r esidue with water and vinegar . T o prevent the build-up of limescale, use only distilled or decalcified water , for example, from a water filter .
71 Oven Light 1 Danger of electric shock! Before r eplacing the oven light bulb: • Switch off the oven. • T ake the fuses out of the fuse box or switch off. 3 T o protect the oven light bulb and the glass cover , lay a cloth on the bottom of the oven.
72 Replacing the side ov en light bulb/Cleaning the glass cap 1. T ake out the side rails on the left. 2. Unscr ew the metal fr ame using a cross-tip scr ewdriver . 3. T ake off the metal fr ame and seal and clean them. 4. If necessary: r eplace bulb with a 25 Watt, 230 V, 300 °C heat-resistant oven light bulb .
73 Oven Door The oven door of your appliance may be removed for cleaning. Removing the oven door 1. Open the oven door completely . 2. Completely fold back the bra ss- coloured clamping lever on both door hinges. 3. Grip the oven door with both hands on the sides and close it to about 3/4 going past the point of resist- ance.
