5 Daily Oper ation • Container s with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures. Ther e is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any container s with flamma- ble materials such as, spr ay cans, fire extinguisher r efill cartridges etc in the r efrigerator/fr eezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e protected for tr ansport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Disposal of old Appliances For envir onmental reasons, r efrigeration appliances must be disposed of pr operly .

T emperatur e control knob and ON/OFF switch The temper ature contr ol knob (D) , which is also the appliance’ s On-/Off switch. The yellow pilot light (B) comes on when the fast fr eezing button (C) has been oper ated.
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The r emaining storage shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the stor age shelf forward until it can be tipped up or down and r emo- ved.
9 The box can be inserted under any door shelf compartment. 1. T o change the position of the stora- ge box; lift the shelf compartment with the box upwar ds and out of the holder s in the door and remove the r etaining bracket out of the guide under the shelf compartment.
10 Fr esh food r efriger ation T o obtain the best performance: • do not stor e warm food or evapor ating liquid in the refrigeator • do cover or wr ap the food, particularly if it has a str ong flavour . • P osition food so that air can cir cuiate freely r ound it.
11 • Please note the maximum stor age times specified by the manufactur er . • Thawed foods which have not been pr ocessed further (cooked into meals) may not under any cir cumstances be fr ozen a second time. • Container s with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures.
12 Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the dr awers show differ ent types of frozen goods. • The number s indicate storage times in months for the appr opriate types of fr ozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indicated sto- r age time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pr e-treating befor e freezing.
13 W arning! Never use metal tools to scr ape off the fr ost Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing pr ocess other than those r ecommended by the manufactur er . A temper atur e rise of the fr ozen food packs, during defr osting, may shor- ten their safe stor age life.
14 • Many pr oprietary kitchen surface cleaners contain chemicals that can attack/damage the plastics used in this appliance. For this r eason it is r ecommended that the outer casing of this appliance is only cleaned with warm water with a little washing-up liqiud added.
15 Heavy build up of frost, possi- bly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (pos- sibly after rever sing the door). Carefully warm the leaking sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (not hotter than approx. 50 °C). At the same time shape the warmed door seal by hand until it sits cor- rectly .
16 If, after carrying out the necessary checks ther e is still a fault with your appliance please contact your local AEG Service Force Centr e. In guar antee cu stomer s s hould ensur e that the suggested check s have been made as the engineer will make a char ge if the fault is not a mechanical or electrical br eakdown.
