49 GETTING RE ADY Formatting a Memory Card Before u sing a ne w memory card f or the first time, yo u need to format it. Once yo u forma t a memory card, yo u w ill not need to format it each ti me yo u u se it. Formatting a memory card that already has fi les on it w ill delete its conten ts.

73 SHOOTING A SNAPSHOT Red-eye reduction Using the flash to shoot at night or in a dimly lit room can ca u se red spots insi de the eyes of peo ple w ho are in the image. This is ca u sed w hen the light fr om the flash refle cts off of the retina of the eye.
74 SHOOTING A SNAPSHOT ■ Changing the Flash Intensity 1. In the REC mode, press [MENU]. 2. On the “Quality” tab, se lect “Flash Intensity” and then press [ X ]. 3. Use [ S ] and [ T ] to select the flash intensity setting you want and then press [SET].
