5 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Electrical Safety • This appliance must be connected by a specially licensed technician only . • In the event of a fault or damage to the appliance: take the fuses out or switch off. • For safety reasons, do not clean the appliance with steam jet or high- pressur e cleaning equipment.
6 How to avoid damage to the appliance • Do not line the oven with alumin ium foil and do not place baking trays, pots, etc. on the oven floor , as the heat that builds up will dam- age the oven enamel. • Fruit juices dripping fr om the baking tray will leave stains, which you will not be able to remove.

10 Befor e using for the first time Setting the clock 3 The oven only operates when the time has been set. When the appliance is connected to the electrical supply or when there has been a power cut, the arrow for the clock flashes. Set the curr ent time with the or button.
11 Setting the Language 1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the main power button . 2. Press the main power and the clock function buttons at the same time. 3. Using the selector buttons and select one of the languages suggested. 4. Press the main power and the clock function buttons at the same time, to store the selected language.
12 Setting the Display Brightness The brightness of the display can be ad justed, to make it easier to r ead in ovens built-in at higher levels. 1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the main power button . 2. Press the main power and the clock function buttons at the same time.
13 Initial Cleaning Y ou should clean the oven thor oughly befor e using for the fir st time. 1 Attention: do not use sharp or abr asive cleaning materials. These could damage the oven surface. 3 For ovens with metal front s, use no rmal commercially available clean- ing agents.
14 Oper ating the Oven The Electr onic Oven Contr ol 3 General Instructions • Always switch the appliance on fi r st by pressing the main power switch . • When the selected function is lit, th e oven begins to heat up or the time set begins to count down.
15 Oven Functions The oven has the following functions: 3 The functions Conventional (T op/Bottom heat), Pizza setting and Rotitherm have an automatic r apid heating function . This ens ur es that the temperatur e set is r e ached as quickly as possible.
16 Single Grill Suggested temperatur e: 230 °C. For grilling flat foodstuffs placed in the centre of the grill, for example, steaks, escalopes, fish, or for toasting . The grill heating element is on. To p/Bottom Heat (conventional oven) Suggested temperatur e: 200 °C For baking and frying/roasting on one shelf posi tion .
17 Switching the Oven On and Off Switching on th e oven function 1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the main power switch . 2. Press the Oven Function button as often as necessary , until the de- sired oven function is lit. • A suggested temperatur e appear s on the temperatur e display .
18 Checking the temper atur e Press and at the same time. The current temper atur e appear s in the temperatur e display . Changing the oven function Press the OVEN FUNCTION button as often as necessary , until the desired oven function appear s.
19 Switching off the oven Switch the appliance off by pressing the main power switch . 3 Cooling fan When the oven is switched on, the fan comes on automa tically to keep the surfaces of the appliance cool. Wh en the oven is switched off, the fan continues to operate to cool th e appliance down, then switches it- self off.
20 Inserting the gener al purpose pan, grill, and tray Inserting the general purpose pan and tray: The trays have a little bulge on the left and right edges. These are pr o- vided as positioning guides and must always be located towards the rear when inserting the tr ay .
21 Steam Cooking Functions 1 Important: The steam cooking functions must always be set in con- junction with the clock function s Cook Time or End Time (see chapter Clock Functions Cook Time and End Time). 1 Important: Only water can be used as liquid.
22 5. Stop the signal and switch off the oven by pressing the main power switch . After the oven has cooled down, soak up any r emaining water from the steam generator using a sponge and, if necessary , wipe out with a little vinegar . Leave the door open to let the oven dry completely .
23 Additional Functions Baking and Roasting Pr ogr ammes 3 For this function, use the re cipes su pplied in the chapter “Usage, T ables and Tips” . Selecting baking an d r oastin g pr ogrammes 1. Press the Pr ogramme b utton as often as necessary , until the desired baking/roasting pr ogramme appears.
24 Meat Pr obe Ensures that the oven switches itself off as soon as the temper ature at the centre of a r oast reaches a set temper ature. The meat probe is best used together with the Conventional (T op/Bot- tom heating), Fan Cooking and Rotitherm functions.
25 3 • The core temper ature is displayed fr om 30 °C. • Should the current cor e tempera- ture alr eady be being displayed, before the desir ed core tempera- ture is set, pr ess the meat probe button and carry out the setting process. • To set the oven temperatur e, press the meat probe button twice.
26 Clock Functions Countdown To set a countdown. A signal so unds after the time has elapsed. This function does not affect the oper a tion of the oven. Cook time To set how long the oven is to be in use. End time To set when the oven is to switch off again.
27 Countdown 1. Press the c lock function but- ton as often as necessary , until the Countdown arrow flashes. 2. Set the desired Countdown t i me us- ing the or button (max. 99 minutes). After about 5 seconds the display shows the time remaining. The Countdown arrow lights up.
28 Cooktime 1. To select the oven function and temperatur e. 2. Press the ok o button as often as necessary , until the Cooktime arrow flashes. 3. Set the desired cooking time with the or button. The Cooktime arrow lights up.
29 End Time 1. To select the desir ed oven function and temperatur e. 2. Press the ok o button as often as necessary , until the End Time arrow flashes. 3. Set the desired switch-off time wit h the or button. The End Time arrow lights up.
30 COOK TIME and END TIME combined 3 Cook Time and End Time can be used simultaneously if the oven is to automatically switch on and off at a later time . 1. To select the desir ed oven function and temperatur e. 2. Using the COOK TIME function, set the time requir ed for cooking the dish concerned, for example, 1 hour .
31 Adjusting the time 1. Press the clock function but- ton as often as necessary , until the Time arrow flashes. 2. Set the curr ent time with the or the button. 3. After about 5 seconds, the arrow stops flashing and the clock displays the time set. The appliance is now ready to use again.
32 Other Functions 3 Between 22:00 and 6:00, the brightness of the display is automatically reduced. Switching off the clock display 2 Y ou can save energy by switching off the clock display . 1. If requir ed, switch off the appliance using the main power switch .
33 Child Safety Device As soon as the child safety device is engaged, the oven cannot be switched on. Activating the child safety device 1. If requir ed, switch on the appliance by pressing the main power switch . No Oven Function must be selected. 2.
34 Button Lock To ensure t hat oven functions set ar e not accidentally altered. Setting the Button Lock 1. If requir ed, switch on the appliance by pressing the main power switch . 2. Select the oven function. 3. Press and hold Pr ogramme and buttons at the same time for about 2 seconds, until PROGRAMME LOCK appears in the display .
35 Usage, T ables and Tips Steam Cooking For steam cooking, use either the Vigorous Steam or Interval Steam oven functions. 1 Warning: During steam cooking, do not under any circumstances open the oven door .
36 Vigor ous Steam The Vigorous Steam Cooking method of pr eparation is suitable for all types of food, fresh or fr ozen. It ca n be used for cooking, warming, de- frosting, poaching or blanching vegetables, meat, fish, pasta, rice, sweet corn, semolina and eggs.
37 Vigor ous Steam and F a n Cooking in succession Vigorous Steam and F an Cooking can be combined to cook meat, vege- tables and side-dishes in the oven one after the other and then using Vigorous Steam with one another , so th a t th ey w ill be re ady to s erv e at the same time.
38 Interval Steam Interval Steam cooking is particularly suitable for roasting lar ge joints of meat and defrosting or r e-heati ng portions of food cooked previous- ly . Interval Steam Cooking Table Cooking on mor e than one oven leve l Cut up a whole roast bef ore warming.

56 Bio Functions The low temperatur es that can be set with this oven can be used to make yoghurt or to raise yeast dough. 1 Attention: the suggested temperatur e s h a v e t o b e ch a n g e d w i t h al l Bio functions! 57 Low T e mper ature Cooking With the Low Temper ature cooking fu nction, meat becomes beautifully tender and remains particularly succulent. 2 When roasting with low temper atures, up to 20 percent less energy is needed than with normal r oasting.
58 Making Pr eserves For making preserves, use the Interval Steam oven function. Preserving Jars • For preserving, use only commer cially available preserve jar s of the same size. 3 Jars with twist-off or bayonet type lids and metal tins ar e not suitable.
59 Pr ogr ammed Functions and Recipes The appliance has 12 progr ammed functions and recipes, which can be selected one after the other using the Progr amme button. 1. Cleaning Pr ogr amme The cleaning progr amme function is described fully in the “Care and Cleaning” chapter Recipes 2.

P otatoes au gr atin Ingredients: – 1 000 g potatoes, – salt and pepper , 1 teaspoon of each – 1 clove of garlic, peeled – 300 g Greyerz or Emmental cheese, gr ated, – 3 eggs, – 250 ml milk, – 4t a b l e s p o o n s c r e a m , – 1t a b l e s p o o n t h y m e , – 3t a b l e s p o o n s b u t t e r .
61 4. White br ead Ingredients: – 1 000 g flour , type 405, – 1 cube of fr esh yeast or 2 packets of dried yeast, – 600 ml milk, – 15 g salt. Method: Place the flour and the salt in a la rge bowl. Dissolve the yeast in the milk and ad d to the flou r .
62 6. Baked fish fillet Ingredients: – 7 00 g pike-perch filet (or salmon filet or sea trout filet), – 1 00 g emmental cheese, grated, – 200 ml cream, – 40 g breadcrumbs, – 40 g butter to grease the dish, – salt, pepper , lemon jui c e, – parsley , chopped.

Pizza 1 original baking tray o r 2 r ound baking sheets (dia. 26 cm) Ingredients for the dough: – 300 g flour , type 405, – 180 ml water , – 15 g yeast, – 2 tablespoons olive oil, – 1 teaspoon salt. Method for the dough: Dissolve the yeast in the water and with the other ingredients knead to an elastic dough.
64 9. Quiche Lorr aine Ingredients for the pastry: – 250 g flour , type 405, – 125 g butter , – 60 ml water , – 1 teaspoon salt, – some pepper and nutmeg. Method: Mix together flour , butter and salt, add the water and knead together briefly .
65 10 . C h i c k e n Ingredients: – 1 chicken (1 000 - 1200 g), – 2 tablespoons oil, – salt, pepper , paprika, curry powder . Method: Wash the chicken and dry it with kitchen paper . Mix the spices with the oil and use th e mixture to oil the chicken evenly inside and out.
66 Cleaning and car e 1 War n in g: For safety r easons cleaning the appliance with a steam jet cleaner or high-pressur e water cleaner is not permissible ! Exterior of the Appliance • Wipe the front of the appliance with a soft cloth dipped in warm soapy water .
67 Accessories Wash all slide-in units (shelf unit, baking tr ay , shelf support rails etc.) after each use and dry well. Soak briefly to make them easier to clean. Gr ease Filter 1. Clean the grease filter in hot water and washing up liquid or in the dishwasher .
68 Side Rails To clean the sides of the oven, the le ft and right side ra ils can be re- moved from the oven. Ta king out the si de r ails 1. Loosen the screw . 2. Pull the r ails sidewards ( 1). 3. Lift the rails off the r ear hook (2). To r emove/replace the side r ails on the right, open the cover on the meat probe socket.
69 Replacing the side rails 1. Set the rails in the r ear hook and press against the scr ew hole (1). 2. Insert the scr ew and tighten (2)..
70 Steam Gener ation System 1 Important: Wipe the steam gener ator dr y after each use . Soak up wa- ter with a sponge. Remove any lime residue with water and vinegar . To pr event the build-up of limescale, use only distille d or decalcified water , for example, from a wat er filter .
71 Oven Light 1 Danger of electric shock! Before r eplacing the oven light bulb: • Switch off the oven. • Take the fuses out of the fuse box or switch off. 3 To pr otect the oven light bulb and the glass cover , lay a cloth on the bottom of the oven.
72 Replacing the side oven light bulb/Cleaning the glass cap 1. Take out the side r ails on the left. 2. Unscrew the metal fr ame using a cross-tip scr ewdriver . 3. Take of f the metal frame and seal and clean them. 4. If necessary: replace bulb with a 25 W att, 230 V, 300 °C heat-resistant oven light bulb .
73 Oven Door The oven door of your appliance may be removed for cleaning. Removing the oven door 1. Open the oven door completely . 2. Completely fold back the brass- coloured clamping lever on both door hinges. 3. Grip the oven door with both hands on the sides and close it to about 3/4 going past the point of resist- ance.
