7 s t eaLth ® dc Using Existing Ceiling Fixture Outlet Box Af ter turning the power OFF at its source (either the circuit breaker or fuse box), lower the old xture and disconnect the wiring. Chec k the ceiling xture outlet box to be sure it is marked “ Approved for Ceiling Fan Mounting.
8 MO U NTI N G BR ACKE T I N ST ALL A TIO N (CO NT . ) Step 1 . Place a at washer on eac h of the two screws that came with the outlet box and pass the screws through the slot ted holes in the ceiling plate into the screw holes in the outlet box. Step 2.

At tac h the canopy to the ceiling plate with three of the 8-32 x 2 1 / 2 " long canopy screws and loc k washers provided with your Casablanca fan.
10 CAUTION: The Motor Adapter has a special coating on the threads. Do not remove this coating; the coating prevents the downrod from unscrewing. Once assembled, do not remove the downrod. Step 2. Route the wires through the 3" P erma•Loc k downrod and ball assembly as shown in Figures #3.
1 1 s t eaLth ® dc MO T OR HOUSING ASSEMBL Y HANG IN G THE F AN Step 1 . T o hang the fan body in the canopy , hold the fan body rmly and inser t the ball into the canopy opening as in Figure #1 . Chec k that no wires are pinc hed. Rotate the fan body until the slot in the ball ts into the pin opposite the canopy opening in Figure #2.
12 BL ADE H AR DW A R E Screw Driver Step 1 . T uc k the wires into the canopy with the wire nuts pointed upwards, so that the WHITE and BLACK wires are on opposite sides of the canopy and all wires are clear of the canopy opening. Step 2. Install the canopy hatc h with the last canopy screw and loc k washer using the provided screwdriver .
13 s t eaLth ® dc BUL B I N ST ALL A TIO N Step 1 . Screw the 1 0 0-wat t Halogen bulb into the soc k et. Figure 1 . Do not touc h the glass bulb with your ngers–it is extremely important that the glass be clean. If it is touc hed, or dirty , clean carefully with a tissue.
14 DC Control CONTR O L H O L STER I N ST ALL A TI O N Step 1 . Locate a 2x4 w all stud in a convenient location. Step 1 . Orient the control brac k et as shown over the 2x4 stud. Step 1 . Use the provided screws in the mounting holes. Install and tighten screws by hand only .
15 DC Control OPE R A TI O N SPE ED CONT RO L There are six individual speed settings for the fan. Eac h speed is indicated by the number on the controller . T o proper ly calibrate all speeds of the motor , r un the f an on speed "6" for 90 seconds af ter eac h A C pow er r eset.
