2 MOUNTING RECOMMEND A TIONS SLOPED CEILING INST ALLA TIONS Before mounting your Casablanca fan, read the following helpful recommendations. e location of the fan, air circulation, and fan size are all important factors to consider before installation.
3 Using Existing Ceiling F ixture Outlet Box After turning the power OFF at its source (either the circuit breaker or fuse box), lower the old fi xture and disco nnect the wiring. Check the ceiling fi xture outlet box to be sure it is marked “ Approved for Ceiling F an Mounting.
4 Prepar e for f an installation as follo ws: 3a. Route the wir es from th e motor thr ough the P erma • Lock™ downr od and ball assembly . 3b . Usin g the pr ovid ed allen wrench, loosen th e set screw several turn s to allow installati on of th e downr od.
5 Step 5. T o han g the f an body in th e canopy , hold the f an body fi rmly and insert th e ball into th e canopy open- ing. Ch eck that no wir es were pin ched . Rotate the f an body un til the slot in th e nylon ball fi ts into th e pin opposite the canopy openin g.

7 Pull-chain switches on th e fan con trol th e fan an d lights . Usin g the f an contr ol pull-chain switch: Fan off at start. First pull: fan ON, Hi gh speed Second pull: Medium speed Third pull: Medium Low speed Fourth pull: Low speed Fifth pull: Fan OFF Usin g the opti onal li ght pull-chain switch: Li ght off at start.
8 R • The f an may be turn ed ON and OFF by the W-81 wall con trol. • The ligh ts may be turn ed ON and OFF by the W-81 an d the in tensity adjusted from low to hi gh. • The f an must be suppli ed with two ind epend ent 120V A C supply wires . • Set the F AN pull chain switch to the HI GH speed setting.
