3 The HMEC 26 headset The HMEC 26 headset with NoiseGard™ active noise compensation features dynami c, closed headphones. The noise-compensating condenser m icrophone ensures excellent speech transmission ev en in noisy environments. Designed for use in aircraft cockpits.

5 Putting on the headset When putting on the headse t, the patented two-piece headband adjust s au tomatically. Positioning the microphone Bend the flexible microphone boom so that the micro- p h o n e i s p l a c e d a t t h e c o r n e r o f t h e m o u t h .
6 Flipping away one earcu p The headset features a “fl ip-away” earcup for single- sided listening. Adjusting the volum e directly on the audio system Connect the headset to the co rresponding sockets of your audio system. Ad just the volume directl y on the audio system.
7 Adjusting the microphone sensitivity The microphone sensitivity has been factory pre-set to 80 mV/Pa as per RTCA DO-214. You can change the microphone sensitivity b y turning a small scr ewdriver in the direction of the arrow.

10 Using the headset Switching N oiseGard™ on/o ff The NoiseGard™ ON/OFF switch allo ws you to sw itch the NoiseGard™ active noise compe nsation on or off.
11 Switching between mo no and stereo mode The mono/stere o switch allows you to switch between mono ( ) and stereo ( ) mode, depen ding on the audio system. 왘 Set the mono/stereo switch to the desired position: mono ( ) or stereo ( ).
12 The operating time with batt eries/rechargeable batteries is approx. 60 hours. With NoiseGard™ switched on (see page 10), the LED provides information on the remaining battery/ rechargeable battery capacity. LED li ghts up ye llow: The batte ry capacit y is sufficient.
13 Switching the TalkThrough function on/off (HMEC 26-T only) The headset provides excell ent attenuation of ambient noise. In order to allow you to commu nicate undisturbed with your surroundings while wear ing the headset, the HMEC 26-T features a Ta lkThrough function.
14 Connecting a mobile telephone The 2.5 mm jack socket allows you to connect a mobile telephone. For this purpose, the NoiseGard™ active noise compensation must be swit ched on and the microphone connector must be connected to the aircraft radio/audio.
15 Connecting an additional audio pl ayer The 3.5 mm jack socket allows you to connect and listen to an audio player (not supplied) through the headset. For this purpose, the Noise Gard™ acti ve noise compensation must be switched on. 왘 Connect the audio cable to the 3.
16 Care and maintenance Cleaning the headset Use a sof t, slightly dam p cloth to clean the headset from time to time. If the headset is very dirty, use a cloth dampened with mild, soa py water. Do not u se any solvents or cleansing agents. Replacing the earpads For reasons of hygiene, the earpads should be rep laced from time to time.
