8 USING V EHICLE BATTERY POWER You can power the CD play er from y our vehicl e’s batte ry power with the supp lied DC adapter . Cautions: Y ou must us e a power source th at supp lies 4.5 volts DC and deliv ers at least 600 mA . Its cente r tip must be set to posi tive an d its pl ug must fit the CD pl ayer ’s DC IN 4.
9 2. Set the AC ada pter ’ s voltage switch to 4.5V . 3. Insert the AC adapte r ’s barrel plug into the CD playe r ’s DC IN 4. 5V jack. 4. Plug the ot her end of the adapte r into a sta ndard AC out let.

11 CONNECTING TO A HOME AUDIO SYSTEM You can liste n to your CD play er throu gh your home audi o syst em’s ampli fier/ re- c ei ver a nd ful l- si ze s pea kers. Connect the supplied Y-cable’s 1 / 8 -inch (3.5-mm ) plug to th e CD pl ayer’s LINE OUT jack.
12 OPERATION LOADING A CD Caution: To help preven t dust from en - tering th e CD play er, always keep the CD compart ment cover closed ex cept when loadi ng or unl oadin g CDs. 1. Slide OPEN in the di rectio n of the arrow and li ft the CD compar tment cover .
13 When the la st track finishes playin g, the CD stops and the dis play alter nately shows the t otal num ber of trac k s and to - tal playing time of the CD for about 30 seconds , then the CD play er autom ati- cally tur ns off. To turn i t off soo ner, press ST OP .
14 LOCKING THE CONTROLS You can pro tect yo ur CD player from ac - cidental program change s by lo cking al l cont rols exce pt OPEN , E-B ASS , ON/OFF and VO L . To lock the co ntrols, slid e HOLD in the direction of the arrow. To turn off hold, slid e HOLD away from the arrow.
