8 Throughout this manual, features and appearance may vary from your model. How to Light a Gas Surface Burner Make sure all the sur face burners are placed in their respective positions. Push the control knob in and turn it to the LITE position. Y ou will hear a little clicking noise— the sound of the electric spark igniting the burner .
9 In Case of Power Failure In case of a power failure, you can light the gas sur face burners on your range with a match. Hold a lit match to the burner , then push in and turn the control knob to the LITE position. Use extreme caution when lighting burners this way .
10 Most griddled foods require cooking on a preheated sur face. Preheat griddle according to the guide below , then switch to the desired cook setting. IMPORT ANT NOTES: ■ Avoid cooking extremely greasy foods and be careful of grease spill-over while cooking.
Oven Control, Clock and T imer Features BAKE Pad T ouch this pad to select the bake function. BROIL HI/LO Pad T ouch this pad to select the broil function. Display Shows the time of day , oven temperature, whether the oven is in the bake, broil or self-cleaning mode and the times set for the timer or automatic oven operations.

How to Set the Upper Oven for Baking or Roasting Y our oven is not designed for open-door cooking. T ouch the BAKE pad. T ouch the number pads to set the desired temperature. T ouch the ST ART pad. The word ON and 100° will be displayed. As the oven heats up, the display will show the changing temperature.

Power Outage If a flashing time is in the display , you have experienced a power failure. Reset the clock. On models with a CLOCK pad, touch it once to reset. On models with a TIMER/CLOCK pad, touch and hold the pad until the display changes. Enter the correct time of day by touching the appropriate number pads.

32 Using the lower oven drawer . (on some models) T o Use the Lower Oven Drawer Push in and turn the lower oven drawer knob to any desired setting. Allow the lower oven drawer to preheat. ■ The ON signal light is located on the upper right side of the knob and glows when the knob is in the ON position.
33 If your model has a door latch, never force the latch handle. Forcing the handle will damage the door lock mechanism. The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly .
