7 Using Y our New Dishwasher As a Sink When you need more sink area, remove the rack and spray arm comple tely . T o open drain 1. T ur n the drain stop per one-quarter tur n counterclockwise and lift to a llow water t o drain. T o close drain 1. Insert drain st oppe r so it al igns an d drops down to seal against t he drain.
8 Fold-Down Cup Shelf Fold down the cup shelf on the rack front to hold additi onal cups , stemwar e or long items s uch as ut ensils and sp atulas. Fol d up when you need room for larger items in the mai n rack.
9 Loading Silverware Basket Load the si lver war e bas ket w hile it is in the rac k or t ake th e basket out for load ing on a counter or table. Mix item s in each s ection of th e basket with some poin ting up and some down to a void ne sting. Sp ray canno t reach nested items .
10 Rinse Aid Dispenser Rinse aids p revent wat er from formin g droplets that can d ry as spot s or st re aks. They also i mpr ov e dry ing by allow ing wa ter to drain off of the dishes d uring the final rinse by releasi ng a small amount of the rin se aid in to the rin se water .
11 Cycle Sel ect ion Char ts Selec t the wash cycl e and option de sired or press the Start pad to repeat the same cy cle and opt ion as the previou s cycle. NOTE : If the l ast cy cle you co mpleted was a rins e cycle, the dishwash er will run the last f ull wash cycl e and opti on that you selected when you press th e Start pad .
12 Changing a Cycle or Setting During the first fill of a c ycle 1. Open the lid . 2. Press a new cycle and/or opt ions. 3. Check the de tergent. Dishwasher mus t contain the p roper amount for the new cycle. 4. Close and l atch the li d. The dishwa sher resumes the ne w cy cle an d/or opt ion af ter a 5 -sec ond pau se.

16 Drain Air Gap Check the drain air gap anytime y our dishwas her isn’t draining well. If a drain is clogged, the drain air gap prot ects your dishwasher from water b acking up into it. T o clean the drain air gap Clean the drai n air gap periodical ly to ensu re proper drainage of your dish washer .
17 Did you use the correct a mount of fresh detergent? Use recommended dishwasher det ergents only . Refer to the “Detergent Dispenser” s ection. Never us e less than 1 t sp (5 g) per load. Det ergent must be fresh to be effective. Store detergent in a cool, dry area.
