4 REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS The RCP 5 remote is capable of controlling 11 devices , including the A VR 146 and the DVD 38 included in the CP 55 system. During the installation process , you may program the codes for each of your source components into the remote .

6 T est T one: Press this button to activate the test tone for manual output-level calibration. TV/Video/ Video Off: This button has no effect on the receiver , but is used to switch video inputs on some video source components .
7 REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS T uning: Press these buttons to tune a radio station. Depending on whether the tuning mode has been set to Manual or Automatic , each press will either change one frequency step at a time , or seek the next frequency with acceptable signal strength.
8 BA TTERIES The RCP 5 remote control uses three AAA batteries , which are included. T o remove the batter y cover located on the back of the remote , firmly press the ridged depression and slide the cover toward the top of the remote . Insert the batteries as shown in Figure 1, making sure to observe the correct polarity .
9 PROGRAMMING SOURCES 9 Programming Sources The RCP 5 remote is capable of controlling not only the receiver and DVD player included in your CP system, but it may also be programmed to control many br.
10 10 PROGRAMMING SOURCES T able 1 – Remote Control Codes * Do not reprogram the DVD Source selector unless you are replacing the DVD player included in the CP 55 system with another product. If you are unable to locate a code set that correctly operates your source device , it will not be possible to use the RCP 5 remote to control that device .
11 USING EzSET 11 Using EzSet This section replaces Step Four in the Initial Setup section of the A VR 146 owner’s guide . An essential step in setting up your multichannel audio/video receiver is calibrating the channel output levels so that they all sound equally loud at the listening position.
12 ADV ANCED FUNCTIONS The RCP 5 remote control not only operates the A VR 146 and DVD 38, but it also serves as a universal remote that may be programmed to operate many of your other home theater components . The punch- through and macro features add even more flexibility and versatility .
13 It isn’t possible to “edit” a command within a macro . However , you may erase the macro as follows: 1. Simultaneously press and hold the Mute Button and the Macro Button containing the macro until the Program LED flashes . 2. Press the Surround Button to erase the macro .
