3 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS TRAINING 1. Read the I nstruction Manual c arefully . Be thoroug hly fa miliar with the controls and proper use of the equipment. 2. Never allow children to operate tractor. 3. Keep the area of operation clear of all persons, particularly small children and pets.

5 OPERATION Throttle - Depr ess the throttle to ac celerate engine, rais e to decelerate engine. Choke - Pull to chok e; push for ward fully for norm al operation. Operating Levers - The oper ating levers, one f or high an ow speeds and one for forward and revers e are located on the right tractor handle.

7 Figure 5 MAINTENANCE LUBRICATION Filling the chass is to its 5 pint (2.36L.) c apacity w ith m otor oil lubricates both the engine and tr ansm ission. Do not use transm iss ion oil or grease. T he following is recom m ended: Summ er - SAE 30 or SAE 10W -30.

Star t the engine and open the throttle halfway. After the engine warms up, begin screwing the jet adjustm ent valve in slowly.

11 Fender A djustment W hen mowing short weeds and lawns, the Front Fender (the sm all fender ) should be on the f ront of the Mower Hood, and the Rear Fender (T he Larger F ender) on the rear.

Then pivot the T ractor at the end of the furr ow so the Right Depth W heel is in the furrow jus t made. Continue this way so the dir t is alway s thr own toward the center (see F igure 25).
17 OPERA T ING HINT S The Rotar y Cultivator is designed for cultivating soil which has been brok en previously. It is not recom m ended for use as a Plow. Use the Gr avely Rotary Plow to prepare a seedbed in one operation and the Rotary Cultivator for c ultivation throughout the season.
