Operation 311485J 3 Operation Pressure Relief Pr ocedure 1. Set pump v alve OFF . T ur n engine OFF . 2. T ur n pressure to low est setting. T rigger gun into pail to reliev e pressure.
Service 4 311485J Service Remo va l 1. Flush pump (36). Stop pump on down stroke if pos- sible . 2. P erform Pressure Relief Pr ocedure , page 3. 3. Remove suction set ( 147) from pump (36). 4. Remove paint and drain lines from filter housing. 5. Using a wrench, loosen filter hou sing fitting (110) and remove housing fr om pump.
Service 311485J 5 8. Separate coupling (125) and re mov e. 9. Using a hammer , loosen jam nut ( 122). Unscre w pump (36 ) from po wer head. 10. Remove pump (36). Ball Adjustment 1. Using a hammer , loosen and remo v e intake v alve (213). 2. Disassemb le and clean all parts and o-rings (207).
Service 6 311485J Piston Rod Assembl y 1. T ap piston rod out of cylinder with a hammer or flip ov er and tap piston rod out against ben ch. NO TE: Slee v e ma y come out of cylinder with piston rod.
Service 311485J 7 3. Grease piston rod (2 22) packings and top edge of sleeve (220). 4. Carefully slide piston rod assembly (222) into top edge of slee ve (220). 5. Grease top inch or two of piston rod (222) that will go throug h the cylinde r throat packings.
Service 8 311485J 10. Reassemb le intake valve (2 13) as shown. 11. P lace inta ke valve (213) assembly in vice. Install cylinder (205) assembly to intake va lve. Torque to 350 ft-lb (475 N•m). 12. Torq ue packing nut (202) do wn to 50 ft-lb (6 8 N•m).
Service 311485J 9 17. Replace clip pin ( 121) to secure. 18. Reinstall filte r housing (110 ). 19. Connect suction hose (147) to pump outlet (3 6). 121 125 ti7809a ti7772a 110 ti7764a 36 147.
